@RatsTesla I really need to change my algo because I'm sick of seeing them.

Tesla is suing the state of North Dakota because the state won't allow the company to open any showrooms/service centers and sell direct to consumers.
North Dakota law prohibits vehicle manufacturers from owning car dealerships and requires them to sell their products to franchised dealerships for resale to consumers.
“Tesla just wants to be able to sell its vehicles in North Dakota, and not force customers who would wish to purchase a Tesla vehicle to have to drive to Minnesota or another state to do it,” said Ari Holtzblatt, one of Tesla’s attorneys in the case.
Tesla is asking the court to declare the company does not fall within the definition of manufacturer contained in state law. The term is defined as a person who assembles or imports a motor vehicle and sells it to dealers in the state for resale.
It's wild that in 2026, we still have U.S. states that won't allow direct vehicle sales to consumers. It hurts consumers and reduces choice.

@SteveOnSpeed The savings is not what it used to be. You generally can get better rates on new cars for not that much more money down. Plus, the warranty is better on new cars.

@CyberMikeOG Nothing in this spring update feels like a big deal and the only decent improvement doesn't even apply to HW3 vehicles since they don't have the interior light bar.
English

I love my Tesla but, at no other time has owning a car been more similar to buying a new iPhone.
Will you get the update? Is your device too old? Do you need to upgrade to get simple features? A 7 year old iPhone can operate Grok. But your 4 year old Tesla can’t. You’ll need to upgrade for that feature.
Tesla@Tesla
English

@OverlyTrev Updates can only be downloaded over wifi, so I don't think this will be an issue.
English

Tesla added automatically installing updates as a feature in the new Spring Update.
I don’t see many talking about it, but this is honestly a great QOL improvement. You don’t have to remember to install the update with your app; it will just auto-download.
I could see a potential issue with this: You’re on a road trip or simply out at the store, you have this enabled, it starts downloading a new update, and now you can’t drive for an hour.
An easy fix would be to lock it to home only so it auto-updates only when you’re home, or have it send a notification to your phone to make sure you want to do the download.
This could prevent this potential issue, but we won’t know until we actually get it! I will definitely be testing it out!

@dezmondOliver Same thing will happen to HW4 eventually. Most of this isn't even necessary, the car is already great.
English

Cool so nothing for hw3, those of us who bought our teslas super early and helped build the company, can’t wait 😑

@lemiggy_24 @Teslarati Cops won't be needed for traffic violations when/if all cars are fully autonomous 😉
English

@Teslarati Big difference from your train and plane analogy is that those don’t have cops! Good overview of the update! I’m waiting for mine, but I think these updates are going to hopefully become more and more mundane as the focus shifts from driving capability to safety.

@Viralvid_89 Bikers had to have done some shit to get that guy going like that, but of course the video starts after that.

@SawyerMerritt It's only useful for showing off. And every time you do show it off, it doesn't work well.

NEWS: The NHSTA says it has closed its investigation into Tesla’s “Actually Smart Summon” feature.
The agency found that almost all of the reported crashes involved minor property-damage claims with zero injuries and zero fatalities linked to the feature. It also found that out of millions of Summon sessions, a fraction of 1% resulted in an incident. detroitnews.com/story/business…

@_LarZen_ @DeekeTweak Most people are buying them because of GTA6. It will likely be console only for a while like they did for GTA5.
English

@DeekeTweak If you’re thinking about buying a console today the best advice is to not buy one. Not now.
Just wait for PS6 and see how the price will be and then make a decision on either PS6 or a PC.

@mrfundman I had a 3 month trial when I got my car. I was blown away by it, but my commute is only 20 minutes and I work hybrid too. I cannot justify $99 a month to supervise, especially during the winter months here. I'll get it once per year after a major update as a treat or for trips.
English

Tesla FSD price should be either per mile or lowered to $69 a month or even cheaper to $49. Per mile I think better. Current pricing hurts adoption.
Just spoke to several new Tesla owners, they absolutely love their new robots and over the moon that they bought them before gas prices increased
They loved the FSD trials too but not subscribed now because $99 doesn’t make sense financially for them for 10 min commute to work. They would love to pay per mile or during road trips etc but $99 a month is too much for people that don’t drive a lot. Lower the price and increase adoption, actually might result in more revenue for Tesla !

@AmericanHodl3r @vladtenev @NYSE Did you sell the same day? If not, you didn't lose money. It's part of the risks of investing

As companies stay private longer, the landscape of growth is evolving with them. Robinhood Ventures Fund I is built on a simple idea: access to financial opportunity should evolve too.

It really is! And the upcoming tech will make it even more so.

Self driving Tesla has replaced the iPhone for me as the most transformative technology of the 21st century. The iPhone has had far more impact so far, but I think the self driving Tesla is the most impressive tech creation of the 21st century.
