@obinnaokwodu Love your insights @obinnaokwodu - the future of fx and derivative markets is on chain and I know you’ll make major contributions 🚀

Stablecoins are emerging as the clearest view of what a dollar actually costs in frontier markets.
Over the past year, I’ve been looking closely at how stablecoins trade across 20+ frontier markets. Here's what I found:

$70M in volume for @0xPolygon on Stripe 😱
Polygon is definitely the home of stablecoin payments 🔥
2026 will be bigger for Polygon 💪
Polygon | POL@0xPolygon
Polygon is emerging as a core chain for Stripe stablecoin payments. There's steady growth in lifetime volume, with $70M+ already flowing. A signal of increasing demand and merchant usage of Polygon as a payments layer.

@brian_armstrong @base This is a great foundation to build on for @base to become the chain for commerce (which we @spreefinance believe is the real opportunity underpinning the growth of stablecoin volume)

Circle’s applications turned digital assets into real-world financial tools in 2025.
→ Circle Payments Network (CPN) unlocked real-time, programmable cross-border settlement for financial institutions.
→ StableFX introduced onchain currency conversion with familiar RFQ execution.
These services form the connective tissue of the internet financial system.

this year polygon focused on moving real money, not just crypto and they got really good at it
the revolut integration is an example. a normal fintech app that lets users send stablecoins with zero fees, with polygon infrastructure under the hood.
users don’t need to worry about wallets or gas because it just works.
giving anything slow or made expensive by traditional finance a chance at moving to polygon.
by 2026 they plan to silently target payments that make sense on-chain. mostly the ones that benefit from speed, low cost, and global access

@jerallaire @arc A huge step for stablecoins and the new internet financial system.

A powerful milestone in the mainstream adoption and acceptance of USDC, with Visa announcing that all US card issuers (banks, fintechs, crypto firms) can now settle directly with Visa using USDC. Visa also working with Circle to prepare for launching on @Arc.
Dollar digital currency flowing from users, to Visa, and soon enough we think to merchants -- especially those that prefer to settle in digital dollars -- is more evidence that we are upgrading to a new internet financial system.
We are proud of our longstanding collaboration with Visa, and excited by their input as a design partner of @Arc, as the world's leading payment companies help us to shape and eventually operate a new Economic OS for the internet.

@hasufl @tkstanczak Blind signing is such a huge issue. Glad to see it getting more attention.
English

When @tkstanczak became EF co-director and did his big roadshow to source feedback on Ethereums problems and opportunities, I said „blind signing and custody is near the top for me“
Dankrad Feist@dankrad
Yeah this is still absolutely terrible Does anyone know what the biggest blocker for this is? Is it the lack of on chain ABI? Or just not important enough...
English

@illscience It’s a great point. Once you have the network effect, it’s hard to beat.
English

this is a really interesting point - as models get more intelligent and more efficient you can raise prices + cut costs (expanding margins)
much harder to disrupt a brand / network / scale effect of a competitor
