@hellspatisserie Why would they create an institution that rewards mediocrity and arrogance? Most universities don’t create the best talent in science, tech, and finance. Those talented people are developed and refined in private industries.

I think it’s rather interesting that despite being far wealthier in absolute terms than a Vanderbilt or Carnegie or Stanford, and being directly positioned in an industry that could benefit from it, no tech elite has ever founded a university, and few have even given endowments

i have adhd too but the way people post about it on here is like there’s absolutely nothing they can do and are completely helpless and i’m like ok should we just die then? im not gonna act like i have it figured out and i have a lot of bad days too but like at a certain point you become a road block to people in your life who rely on you. if you actually literally cannot do whatever it is and it’s actually important, you need to figure out how to ask for help. i’m unmedicated so trust me i am suffering and a ton of my stuff is a mess but acting like there’s absolutely nothing that can be done is just immature imo and you will create your own isolated world of suffering by your own hand if you truly cannot force yourself to be interested in a world that could be better by even 10%
