Mafabi grew his Kyengera-based beer distributorship with Nile Breweries from scratch. When it vastly expanded, NBL wanted him to sell it to a 'Muyindi' (Keshwala). He refused & they cancelled his contract. He went to court & won Shs 1.1bn. @BbegMedia

@kirya_ug Some of these places never flooded in the past 10 years. Sometimes we throw blame around. While I do not condone building in swamps, check around them and see what has happened to water catchment areas

Appearing before Museveni cadre judges is emotionally exhausting, it’s nauseating, it’s annoying, it’s disgusting, it’s deeply frustrating. Baguma, the cadre judge is arrogant, disrespectful, he is impunity itself. He simply rubbishes pleas from lawyers representing @kizzabesigye1 and Hajji Obeid. On a few occasions that KB attempts to fight for himself, Baguma just can’t let him do that.
In my view @kizzabesigye1 was already convicted before being heard. In future, for the sake of my mental health, I may have to keep away from these proceedings. Not sure I am in position to restrain myself anymore in this kangaroo court. If I don’t keep away, I am likely to join KB in Luzira prison.

As a country, we Ugandans have failed ourselves.
We pride ourselves on education and boast of many institutions of learning, yet we cannot guarantee something as basic as safe roads for our people. The endless road carnage we witness across the country every day is proof that we still have no clear and lasting solution.
After every tragic accident, the response is predictable. A few roadblocks are set up for a short time, often turning into opportunities for small bribes from motorists rather than real safety enforcement. Then everything returns to normal until the next accident takes more lives.
Last night, one of those lives was Tonny Odokonyero, a brilliant Ugandan whose future held immense promise. Tonny was the best student at Lango College in 2001, scoring AAB in PEM, and the overall best science student in Lira District. He later graduated with First Class Honours in Economics from Makerere University, emerging as the best student in his cohort.
He went on to serve as Manager, Macroeconomics, at the Uganda Development Bank and was scheduled to defend his PhD at the University of Pretoria next month. But his journey was cut short in a Mega Bus accident at Bweyale, a tragedy that reminds us how easily this country continues to lose some of its brightest minds.
Tonny’s death is not just a personal or family loss; it is a national loss. Until Uganda confronts the crisis of road safety with real solutions, we will continue burying people whose only mistake was travelling on our roads. 💔

We have intensified our crackdown on illegal construction in Greater Kampala Metropolitan, focusing mainly on the prohibited Steel Timber Composite Building Method (STC). The method was banned in 2022 by the minister @MoWT_Uganda @GenWamala after studies concluded that it was unsafe and a risk to the safety of Ugandans. Several suspects were apprehended from Kira Municipality yesterday. @ERBUganda @PoliceUg @Kiramunicipalco @ARBUganda @UIPE_Uganda

WATCH: The proprietor of Pine Car Bond in Kampala, Muhammad Ssebuwufu, who was convicted in 2019 for the kidnap, aggravated robbery and murder of a client, Betty Donah Katusabe, has been released from prison following a presidential pardon.
Ssebuwufu was initially sentenced to 40 years in prison, but in a 2025 ruling, a panel of three Court of Appeal Justices reduced his sentence to 18 years after re-evaluating the evidence and finding that the sentence by the lower court was too harsh.

🚨 Road Safety Reminder
An incident has occurred today at the Kajjansi Toll Gates involving two vehicles — one failed to start and had to be jump-started, while another could not brake in time due to overspeeding and did not notice that the lane was closed.
We remind all road users that a red ❌ means the lane is closed. Always stay alert to toll gate signage and instructions.
As you approach the toll gates, reduce your speed to 20km/h. Slowing down gives you full control of your vehicle and helps protect other road users and our toll staff.
Before starting your journey, take a few minutes to check your brakes, battery, engine, and tyres. Many incidents can be prevented through simple vehicle inspections.
Drive safe. Arrive safe. 🚦
