If you care about American jobs you don’t want the dollar to be the world reserve asset. If you want to be able to print money out of thin air to buy good then you want us to be the world reserve asset. The byproduct is manufacturing going overseas and the US producing nothing but dollars.

It is impossible to have a true free market as long as the US dollar is a world reserve asset and the dollar can be printed by the fed. Domestic businesses will never be able to compete because of the cantillon effect. As the system is set up today it is impossible to be a nationalist without protectionism. In that lens it is impossible to be “libertarian”. But our “free market” uses socialized money.
