@BLRAviation Deveshji, they need to complete the parallel taxiway east of and along the Runway 14/32. Currently that abruptly stops halfway due to a section of the cargo complex jutting out into the area. This issue alone reduces the ATM of 14/32 when in use. That’s why it’s being done.

@somnath1978 ZERO. The last time CCU had a direct EU flight was in the early 2010s when Lufthansa had withdrawn the lone CCU-FRA flight due to poor loads. Even in the early 2000s it had only 2-3 EU flights. Keep in mind this same airport was one of the busiest Asian hubs until the 60s.

Brands like Taco Bell, Subway, and Hard Rock Cafe have also struggled because Indian desserts are already strong. Donuts never really had a place here. Last year, Dunkin’ did just ₹37 crore in revenue, less than 1% of the company’s total, and still reported a loss of ₹19 crore. If you want to build a business in India, you have to understand Indian taste and mindset. You can’t just drop a Western idea into one of the most exposed and diverse markets in the world and expect it to work.
