They are ready to hold these conversations and challenge gender stereotypes, social norms, and ensure that every girl in #Mathare has access to equal opportunities. Thanks to @oddacken & @RachelGathagu for the great 3 days training. The work continues! together, we rise.

@DonaldBKipkorir @DonaldBKipkorir how about Kenyan motorists preference to put up with traffic on the regular highways, wasting fuel and time, than to pay 400 bob to use the Expressway, because in our minds we imagine free is cheap...but in reality it ends up being more expensive

In Kenya, it isn’t only the Government that needs fixing but everyone. A Kenyan buys a mattress of about Kshs. 200,000/= & instead of paying the mattress shop less than Kshs. 5,000/= for home delivery in a pick-up, he prefers paying a boda boda maybe 200/= to dangerously navigate traffic with it. Kenyans suffer from poverty mentality. US is the world’s biggest economy because Americans suffer from abundance mentality; Americans including its Government spend what they don’t have including literally printing money from trees!

HARAMBEE HOUSE, NAIROBI, KENYA MONDAY, MAY 13, 2024 The Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Act, which was enacted way back in 2013, comes into effect tomorrow Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The new law, whose implementation was frozen for 11 years, outlays a comprehensive, consolidated, predictable and transparent framework for the registration and regulation of civil society entities operating within the territory of Kenya. The Act expedites their registration process, reduces chances of whimsical administrative discretion in the registration of PBOs, closes all windows for arbitrariness and offers a litany of tax and other benefits for registered PBOs. An inclusive, participatory and open society is good for Kenya. It fortifies our democratic credentials and buttresses our values for transparent governance. Gratified to see the fulfillment of yet another of the Kenya Kwanza Administration's pre-election manifesto pledges; namely, the promotion of inclusive and participatory governance, fostering accountability and welcoming alternative or even critical viewpoints.
