I'm now mostly on BlueSky, under the same username. This account is now mostly for moaning at companies being a bit shit.

The prescriptive in me is delighted by the word "undecimate". Use it instead of the "proper" meaning of the word decimate and make everyone twitchy. They'll think you're 100% wrong when you're actually only off by about 10%. You may now call me @susie_dent.

Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

Has anyone else noticed @AmazonUK saying "order in the next x hours for delivery tomorrow" and then delivering in two days time instead? If I wanted it in two days time, I'd have waited until I could go to a physical shop.

@Diane61748453 @FullFact They haven't raised taxes, but there are groups who will get below inflation pay rises but lose a greater percentage of their pay as tax. Claiming that's not an increase in tax is technically correct but really weaselly.

@FullFact But, surely the National Insurance hasn't increased, wages and benefits have, therefore lifting more people in to the tax threshold which has been frozen. I don't see how that is a broken manifesto promise. They said they wouldn't raise it and they haven't 🤷‍♀️
