@TrumpDailyPosts Wouldn’t it be wild if we elected local leaders to make decisions for our cities, as opposed to having one dude try to run all 19,495 of them? Just a thought

@JoeBorelliNYC Good point! Public transit should definitely be cheaper than the car tolls, right?

Me: maybe I won’t take my car to Manhattan today to Mayor Adams’s state of the city address The MTA: ok your trip will cost $14 and take 3 hours each way.

(2/3) …with the cops still on the platform. They shrug and walk to the center of the platform, where there are 6 (!) cops just chatting in a circle. After a few minutes they all disappear up the stairs

(1/3) Guy screaming and clearly having hallucinations on the E train. Cops get on two cars down, I talk to them about getting him assistance. They say we’ll take a look, wait 2 (!) stops, attempt to walk the two cars at the station, but the train closes its doors and drives off…

Gale Brewer is trying to trade on her past support for bike lanes and bus lanes to trash a bus lane plan on 96th Street (which is not in her district)

@jkwessel @NYC_DOT @NYCSanitation Agreed, but why are they so tiny?? Not the only place where we’ve replaced car parking with something 1/10th the volume of a car

@TAMeltzer @StreetsblogNYC And how many places across the country have tried congestion pricing to mitigate the impact on air quality?

Because #CongestionPricing wasn't implemented on June 30, 60,902 more tons of carbon dioxide have been emitted in NYC. We need congestion pricing now.

Today I released my official recommendation on City of Yes for Housing Opportunity. My advice to the Department of City Planning is simple: Do not back down. Do not scale back. Do not shy away. If you’re going to do anything, do more.

It’s vindictive , I study must be conducted on exactly why this is being done the reasons for it, and who’s funding all of this. This needs to be taken to federal court. This violates people just trying to get around to go to school and work. you cannot just do whatever you want in a supposed democracy

Today @NYC_DOT informed us that the speed limit on the Underhill Bike Boulevard will be reduced to 10 mph. Underhill has seen >80% reduction in crashes thanks to the bike blvd treatment. Now the new speed limit will also lower the risk of serious injury from a crash to below 10%

@ebottcher Thank you!! What about the much smaller but equally dangerous segment on 7th Ave/Varick St? Two amazing bike lanes waiting to be joined!

BIG WIN coming! Since I took office, we’ve been to pushing for a protected bike lane on Lower Sixth Avenue in the Village. Next week, DOT is presenting plans at Community Board 2 for a protected bike lane from Lispenard St. to 14th St. DOT will also be responding to our request

We’ll be leaving Albany this evening with congestion pricing wounded, but STILL intact & STILL the law. We stood strong. 1000s of NYers had our backs. Let’s redouble our efforts to ensure its full implementation. We can’t go backwards on climate, safer streets & a stronger MTA.

In Zurich, you can rent a 1,089-sq. ft. corner 3BR/2BA in a new construction high-rise for $4,452/mo. It's got a windowed kitchen, one windowed bathroom, and a loggia. Plus parking for $220/mo. Single-stair, obviously (plus two elevators) homegate.ch/rent/4001075171

One of my priorities is getting protected bike lanes and pedestrian safety features on every major corridor in Council District 3. Last year, we were able to win a protected bike lane on Tenth Avenue (to be completed this year). One missing gap is Sixth Avenue, below W9th Street.
