Your first hint is that my account is anonymous. Your second piece of info is that Catholic Dioceses are *exceedingly litigious*. They break the law themselves by publishing whatever names they want, but they viciously threaten people who have sensitive info who quit, and it's wise to believe them. Your third clue is in many, many of my posts where I explain that back when my information was fresh, I tried and tried to determine what in the world I could do with it. I completely failed to find any help whatsoever. So, yes. I know stuff. And there's no way to tell any of it and since I quit to preserve my family from this horror, I won't be doing anything to put them at any risk. But I can still help: If you are wondering if your diocese is harboring sex criminals your family should be cautious of, the answer is yes. If you are wondering if you should be careful that your family members should not be alone with clergy or Church employees, the answer is yes. If you are concerned that Catholic schools are particularly dangerous environments and whether it would be better to homeschool your kids, the answer is yes. If you are worried that an excessive amount of the money you give to the Parish and Dioese ends up being used to protect criinal priests, the answer is yes. If you have any additional questions, I'm happy to respond.

The "list of credibly accused" fiasco is now very old news, but since it came up in my feed I have a few things. I was no longer employed by the Church when this happened in 2018-2020. But I got exactly what I expected. When I read the list published by my diocese where I had worked for a decade and was quite aware of the scandals and crimes, none of the actual dangerous and criminal priests were on the list. In several cases, I knew who had accused them, of what, when, and why. I knew of several where settlements had been paid. None of those were on the list. The list consisted of dead priests, laicized priests, imprisoned priests, elderly priests in hospice, and some very unpopular, hapless scapegoats. And a few deacons for good measure. None of the actual powerful, predatory, connected priests - the ones I warned my family never to be close to - were on the list. The same guys who scrub their own files clean in the diocesan records, who have automatic access to the diocesan checkbook to pay off whomever they need to - of course those men were not named. Anyone who wrote or published anything about these lists as if they were in any way a legitimate effort of any kind is a liar. The lists were the worst sort of window dressing. Which is all the Church ever does about priestly crime. Anyone who thinks a bishop is going to go far out of his way to preserve the reputation of another member of the club, write a couple hundred thousand dollars in checks, paper over any traces with aggressive NDA's - and *then* give him up in a public list - is an idiot. You don't need to have seen any of the things I saw or have any inside knowledge whatsoever to have a keen understanding of how this works. You simply have to be a rational adult.
BAS@BrentsASacerdos

The priest who baptized me remains on a list of "credibly accused", but listed as "exonerated". In January I left messages with his religious order and with the diocese maintaining the list, asking to talk to someone about him and that list. Nobody returned my phone calls.

@Rooselee @ApostolicZoom It isn't a matter of being smart. Revelation isn't a matter of intelligence. God made promises and gave authority to His church through the apostles he left on earth. As promised, that church continues and retains the authority given.

@ApostolicZoom The typical recurring theme of Roman paganism. "You're too stupid to have a relationship with Jesus so you need us. I know he never said that anywhere but we said so and have pretty robes" please be honest.

And this is exactly why you as an individual Christian are incapable of determining the canon. Nothing you say can’t be turned around and used on your 66 books. Mud & spit to heal blindness? Dipping in the Jordan River to heal leprosy? A bronze serpent to heal snake bites?
The Protestant Philosopher@ProtPhilosopher

A Catholic presses, "Hebrews was disputed too. If you keep it, you have to keep Tobit." No, I don't. And I don't need a council to tell me why. Hebrews opens with the highest Christology in the NT. Tobit tells you to burn fish liver to drive away demons. The texts aren't in the same category, and the doctrine of God tells you why. New article: protestantreview.substack.com/p/why-hebrews-…

"This passage in Isaiah about a child named Immanuel is about Jesus" is just as insane an interpretation as "This line in a letter Paul wrote to the church in Thessaloniki is about a thousand year cosmic battle that will happen in a few years". Glass houses throwing stones

Mainlines, Catholics and Orthodox love to be mad at this, but type of exegetical practice where single lines of text are turned into detailed narratives completely and utterly removed from context is basically what the Gospels were doing to the Old Testament.

If your pastor isn’t teaching you that the rapture is real, a third temple will be built in Jerusalem, the tribulation is a real event, and that there will be a 1,000 year reign under Jesus on earth, then you need to find a new church.

While they were busy cutting SNAP and health care for working families, Pete Hegseth spent $2 million on King Crab, nearly $7 million on Lobster Tails, and nearly $100,000 on a Grand Piano in the month of September. This is where your taxpayer dollars are going. Isn’t this supposed to be the Administration that’s targeting “waste, fraud, and abuse”?!? Make it make sense.
Headquarters@HQNewsNow

New Pentagon budget reports show Pete Hegseth spent $93 billion in one month, making it the highest monthly expense since 2008. This budget report included spending $2 million on Alaskan King Crab.

The Bible actually has evidence for a time traveling Catholic in Luke 11. 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” 28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

It makes me really sad that people that all worship Jesus have to argue like angry children. Yes, I have my issues with Catholicism. They aren't "wrong" i think they just lost their way. They still worship Jesus and thats fine. As long as they aren't gonna be dicks about it, neither will I. We're all brothers and sisters, or should be.
Pray The Rosary@PrayTheRosary

I want everybody on X to hear this. Jesus started His Church in 33 AD. (Matthew 16:18) and if your church started after the 1500's, then you're in a false church and you should convert and follow Christ and His Apostles. God would not try to confuse people with multiple churches.

@dilanesper @NoCaparison I don't imagine it was intentional. It is true that US military bases have schools, but they are generally away from operations buildings. The proximity doesn't excuse this, but it helps explain it.

@hnh1957 @MrAntiSocialMG @uzairnizamani74 @sentdefender That is absolutely true. I am not certain of the proximity to operations areas in this case (I haven't studied the photos). I just think we can avoid being overly polemical and stay civil. We can probably all agree that we want to avoid striking schools if we are able.

@MrAntiSocialMG @uzairnizamani74 @sentdefender I'm not sure what you mean. I certainly am no terrorist apologist. The fact is that many, many US bases have schools on the base. I used to drive by the school on the way to the office on base. There may be ways to distinguish this, but let's have a civil discussion.

@MAGATXCD21 @GlobalTechtonic @sentdefender Accountability isn't the same as punishment. If there is fault, punishment might be in order. It may be a matter of retraining or it might be a terrible event without fault. The impartial investigation will allow us to be accountable and take appropriate action.

@MrAntiSocialMG @uzairnizamani74 @sentdefender It being next to the base explains how it was hit, but it being next to the base is not inherently a problem. We have schools on our US bases. The human shield thing is an issue, but not necessarily at play here.

@BiblesForFree @gonefishin1948 @amandahighers14 The laity spans a wide range of education. It can because the individual's reasoned understanding isn't necessary. The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth where we can stand firm. God continues to unroll the meaning of His revelation through His Church.

@NMarbletoe @JamesDueck @gonefishin1948 The Church doesn't stand as the foundation of truth. Instead, it is the individual's understanding. The understanding is grounded in their sense of inspiration with little method for discerning true movements of the Spirit that are outside one's own understanding.

@NMarbletoe @JamesDueck @gonefishin1948 As I understand it, most protestants would contend that the way God communicates the meaning of Scripture is through a direct revelation to the individual reading/interpreting, i.e., the Holy Spirit speaks to the reader.
