@JonnyThom157564 @JustinPetersMin @elonmusk This idea puts most people off because of the lack of actual ownership. You'd be upset if you had a brand new 100% cap battery get replaced with someone's heavily used 3yr stock too 😅 Plus would need all brands to be using the same batteries; onsite storage, facilities etc.

@CATBIGUNS @ZachStoryX @elonmusk Yup, we had one for a bit, rear row foot room is too limited- wouldn't be as bad if the middle row could be left further forward, but it tends to shout at you. Compare it to things like Chrysler Grand Voyager or Toyota Alphard and you'll see the difference in practicality.

Working from home invites laziness and is the ultimate casual environment. Being less or more productive depends largely on the individual but it's an unnecessary risk. Elon Musk as CEO of multiple companies already have real-world experience with productivity in the office vs. from home and if he had metrics showing that working from home was better surely he would advocate for it.

@DaveRichards200 @OctopusEnergy Typically panels are 25 years and batteries are 10 years; but it's not like they suddenly stop working, some reduction in output/capacity, but still working. Plus within that time, there's likely to be technological enhancements that might make replacement cost effective anyway

@Bobbadbig @RobertOsfield And heat pump too I guess :) sounds good though. I guess EV control is likely mandatory/essential in these setups though. I wonder if it is actually legally mandated though?

@dalgibbard @RobertOsfield It's fine. We have house batteries (no solar) and EV charging overnight, plus the dishwasher usually. Nowhere near overload.

We've bought a MG5 SE completing the electrification of the Osfield household. First was induction hob, then heat-pump, solar and batteries and finally a BEV.

@Evil_Scot @RobertOsfield I guess it depends on the age of the property etc, but ours is 100A at least; three phase upgrades are technically possible too, but that's in the £5-10k range for a 200A max iirc :/

@dalgibbard @RobertOsfield You would have to replace you main feed to get 100A. Kind of shocked (psychologically) of the reqired upgrades. The highest you can get without a rewire is 80A. This would cover the worst case scenario of the car starting charging during a shower.

@O_E_W @RobertOsfield Yup same, but the inlet fuse is still typically limited to 100A before the consumer unit, and higher would require a three phase upgrade afaik. I think load settings on EV chargers mitigate the issue anyway by the sounds of it :)

@dalgibbard @RobertOsfield Our solar and EV charger are installed via their own consumer units directly after the meter with double insulated 25mm2 meter cable. Neither go through our existing house consumer unit. Our Zappi EV charger does have a setting to limit charge rate if total load gets too high.

We should also extend this to enforce the "router freedom" rules; again especially for VM's XGS-PON connections with Hub5x and no modem mode after more than a year...

@g__j @ofgem Perhaps @Ofcom should take note. Virgin Media wanted to double the price I was paying when my contract was coming to an end. This despite there being “new customers only” deals on their website. They can’t be the only ones doing it.

Kudos to @ofgem. Customers are absolutely clear that the loyalty penalty is hugely unpopular. It'd be hard to justify a market which incentivises companies to hide their best prices from existing customers, and noone should want to return to the carnage that added £3bn to bills.
