My bill, the No Funding to Honor Crime Scenes Act, would defund & abolish the monument in California that was at one time César Chávez’s home & office, ensuring we are not memorializing a perpetrator of abuse.    This legislation would also redirect funds saved from abolishing the monument towards my Debbie Smith Act, which helps fight the rape kit backlog.   No more taxpayer dollars should be spent on a monument that glorifies a child predator like César Chávez, especially when that monument stands quite literally at the scene of some of his alleged crimes.

I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire. It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs. Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ? Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. Hearing that Mexico will fall short of their obligation to deliver the 202k acre-feet of water they promised would be delivered to South Texas. I am already in touch with @POTUS, @USDA, & @SecRollins on ensuring Mexico is held accountable for this failure.   I support any recourse possible to get Mexico to comply & will continue to urge @USTradeRep Ambassador Greer to raise this issue during the USMCA Joint Review.
