@keysmashbandit Some people are good at thinking of novel solutions and applying existing knowledge in novel ways. It goes beyond "this looks like this", which accounts for 90% of human thought and 100% of current LLM inference.

My big problem with "AI is only good at solving problems similar/analogous to those they've encountered" is that that statement is just generally true of everyone, which is why we have like, university. And research papers. It's not an interesting thing to say!

When I saw this story about the torments inflicted upon British Jews in their home country, on the @BBCNews site, around 7.15 am, it had been filed to "Middle East". Minutes later, it had been corrected to "UK". I would be interested to hear an explanation for the original error.
