Last week I randomly got a $9,000 bill for a hospital visit from last year. I called them up and they said my insurance decided not to cover it. Why? Because.
.@Aetna can just decide they’re not interested in covering something and then you’re left with an inflated bill to pay out of pocket after the fact.
This is in addition to a $2,000 bill that I already paid. They just don’t want to cover it despite me paying a monthly premium.
Meanwhile illegals get free healthcare.

It's been 7 months since we had our baby and we're still receiving unexplained hospital bills in the mail. Hardly ever an adequate description of services. Just a QR code to pay online. It feels intentionally confusing and difficult to get answers. We want price transparency.

Yesterday’s SCOTUS ruling is a profound setback for voting rights and the promise of equal participation in our democracy. It effectively hands Republicans a handbook for silencing Black and Latino communities: if you don't say the quiet part out loud, it's just "partisanship."
I will not accept a system where communities of color are pushed further to the margins of our democracy. We must meet this moment at every front: in Congress, at the ballot box, and in the courts. That is exactly what I’ll continue doing alongside @HouseDemocrats, @TheBlackCaucus, and @HispanicCaucus colleagues.

Today, Christopher, Deyanna, and Paige Ostrouchko were indicted by a grand jury for allegedly assaulting journalist and Turning Point USA contributor Savannah Hernandez, while she was lawfully reporting on anti-ICE protests outside a federal building in St. Paul.
Hernandez was allegedly surrounded, physically assaulted, and shoved to the ground — simply because she was identified by the defendants as a conservative journalist. That is NOT “peaceful protest.” These deplorable actions as charged in the indictment will not be tolerated in America, and this Department of Justice will always punish unhinged acts of political violence.

It is a great relief that the President, First Lady and everyone in attendance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is safe following a terrifying act of violence inside the venue.
The brave men and women of the United States Secret Service and local law enforcement are to be commended for their swift action to secure the scene and protect those present.
As someone whose family has suffered political violence, my prayers are with the injured officer and all those affected by the trauma of these horrible incidents.
