@levelsio Once TailScale is installed - you can just block all ports. No need for 443 or 22. Install cloudflared and then it’ll take care of punching in the web traffic. Tailscale ssh will punch in the SSH traffic. I just block everything man.

When I set up a new Hetzner VPS first thing I do install Tailscale and once I'm in via Tailscale lock down the firewall to only accept web traffic on HTTPS 443 for Cloudflare IPs and SSH 22 for Tailscale IP That way nobody can get in I know I keep repeating this but it should be basics of setting up a new VPS So basic IMHO it should be part of any VPS service to default install Tailscale and enable it so it's the only way to get in Why? A VPS server is just like your laptop or destop computer but now imagine if it's connected to the entire internet with 8 billion people that can access it and try hack it You want to only have it accessible to you And if you want to host a website on your VPS (like I do), you should only let Cloudflare access your VPS so it can stand in front and block any hack attempts Never expose a VPS to the world wide web which realistically is the world WILD web

Is Vibe coding effective? It appears the answer is “Yes”. Just saw a talk from a team that did an experiment to prove it. They built the same app using two teams: 1. DIY team that can’t use AI for anything. 2. AI team that must use AI to write all code. No manual coding allowed. They used 80% Cursor and 20% Copilot. Result? AI team was about 45% faster, and quality was comparable. A senior dev was shown both codebases and couldn’t tell which one was AI generated. The AI team used the Figma MCP to build the pages based on Figma docs which is why the pages were built WAY faster than the DIY team. AI was slower in some cases because AI struggled to get it right, so they had to keep trying prompts (since the rule was no manual coding for the AI team). Fascinating.

Existe um professor de system design dos EUA chamado John Ousterhout (tem muito conteúdo dele espalhado por ai). Ele possui uma talk onde tenta argumentar se bons desenvolvedores de software podem ser "ensinados". Ele ainda não chegou em uma conclusão, mas os estudos que ele fez até agora mostram que os melhores desenvolvedores dos quais ele conheceu foram desenvolvedores que aprenderam com a execução e "re-execução" contínua. Ele também trás uma visão da sala de aula. Ele revisa código dos estudantes todos os anos e argumenta que a maior parte destes estudantes leva pelo menos 3 tentativas para chegar em um design de API que satisfaça os requisitos que a matéria dele propõe. Geralmente a primeira versão do código não resolve todos os problemas e possui "leaks" por todos os lados. A segunda já é bem mais madura e visa corrigir erros da primeira, quando a terceira é um resultado satisfatório que cumpre os requisitos. Isso mostra que desenvolvimento de software exige a humildade de aprender com o passado. Inclui, como o Matheus citou, mexer em código legado. Código legado é uma pesquisa viva do que não funciona, do que funciona e do que pode ser melhorado. A dica que sobra é: tente aprender com o passado e coloque a mão na massa, tu provavelmente vai chegar longe.
