Everyone focused on GPT-5.5. The real story was OpenAI quietly moving into cyber defense. Daybreak reveals something bigger. They want AI reviewing, patching, and defending software before humans even react. That changes the power structure of cybersecurity completely. And almost nobody is talking about the real implication: The companies controlling AI agents may soon control software trust itself. Not just productivity. Not just code generation. Trust. OpenAI quietly positioned GPT-5.5-Cyber as infrastructure. That’s a very different business. And a much bigger one. A direct competitor to Claude Mythos or not?

The software layer keeps telling us everything is borderless. The physical layer keeps reminding us it never was. We’re about to learn this lesson at massive scale. Which chokepoint worries you most - cables, chip fabs, energy grids, or something else? The countries that control these chokepoints (or the ones closest to them) suddenly hold silent leverage in an AI-first world. Decentralization was always a comforting story. Geography still wins!

We call it the cloud ☁️ But the real infrastructure still runs under the sea, and it’s far more fragile than most admit. A handful of underwater cables carry most of the planet’s traffic. One map, one conflict, one well-placed incident, and entire cloud regions start choking. AI training clusters go dark. Payment rails freeze. Global comms fracture. We built a “distributed” future on 19th-century geography. That gap is closing fast. And it’s more dangerous than most realize. The software is virtual. The power is still brutally physical. What other systems pretend to be decentralized but aren’t?

This isn’t just a risk; it’s becoming a strategic advantage for certain nations. The countries that control these chokepoints (or the ones closest to them) suddenly hold silent leverage in an AI-first world. Decentralization was always a comforting story. Geography still wins.

@Danny14396 Indeed my friend. I heard about it one year ago, and I said holy s**t, but now this topic came up again, so I thought it is a great opportunity to write a post about it. And a year ago, I didn't had 𝕏 account 😉

@Danny14396 Yes. Exactly. It means, that some day, if someone in the region (without naming), can basically, cut the internet line to 97% of the world. It's crazy. No backup. It will take months to restore.

The crazy part? These cables aren’t even that hard to map. Public databases show the exact landing points. A few countries control the majority of critical routes. During the Red Sea issues last year, some latency spikes were noticeable within hours. Most people just didn’t connect the dots. The AI race makes this worse, because the biggest models now require synchronized, low-latency clusters across continents.

@KaiXCreator Yes. It’s not about the tool. It’s about the direction, idea (and ideation), and the understanding of the market. So, yes. You are the face of your product. No one else is.

@MatthewBerman It’s not about the size of followers. As long as the algorithm finds the content relevant, inspiring, and with high engagement, it takes off. X algo has a life of its own.

The internet has a Strait of Hormuz problem 😱 Iranian state media just started circulating detailed maps of undersea cable routes in the Persian Gulf. 97% of global internet traffic. $10 trillion in daily transactions. One well-placed severance = widespread outages, collapsed banking transfers, frozen stock trades, and crippled cloud services across Gulf, Europe, Asia. Repair ships can’t even enter a hot conflict zone. Weeks or months offline. 💀 Good luck to us all if that’s happening.
