Hisitorically the self defense forces has helped at natural disasters and other anomalies of events when it is needed. They will never attack anyone as a policy. They only defend if attacked upon first and support. It is in their interest or both but more so because Japan relies on imported oil and heavily from that Strait. Their reserves has been tapped into so this is an unprecedented situation. It’s great that allies are working together.

For context on how unusual this is: Japan's post-WWII constitution has historically limited its military to self-defense operations. Offering to assist in securing the Strait of Hormuz would have been unthinkable, say, ten years ago. Trump publicly named Japan's 90% oil dependency through the Strait on camera, sitting next to their PM. Fifteen minutes later, Japan offered to help. The experts said public pressure would alienate allies. What it is actually doing us giving an ally the political cover to do what is already in their interest!

@TechOperator @TitaniumTomP If Rivian was so good with their software why would they even need Uber. They just build their own app.

@_SFTahoe The level of safety in the CT is amazing. Tesla rakes it a notch up.

CYBERTRUCK CRASH SAFETY The cutaway of the Cybertruck casting is very important—and under appreciated! ♦️The front casting (visible above where the front tire would be) has a defined crush zone. This load path dissipates energy to protect the occupants in a crash. ♦️The casting takes the force of the crash—NOT THE PASSENGERS!! Each of those segments in the casting will crush in turn from the front bumper toward the cab, dissipating energy and then stopping at the cab—protecting the occupants. Tesla has pulled a patent on this technology. ♦️Plus in a crash airbags deploy; Tesla has active safety; and FSD avoids the crash in the first place. For Tesla, safety is Number One!

@WR4NYGov @w1991e After Spain started legalizing illegals for no credible reason it is off the list of almost any kind. Countryside of Japan is something I would like to try out.

Sure bud if you want to be in a fantasy world. Rivian’s gross margin per vehicle (the automotive segment) is still negative. Per-vehicle view (same percentage): • Deliveries: 42,247 vehicles • Average selling price (ASP): ~$90,657 per vehicle • Gross loss per vehicle: ~$10,226 • Per-vehicle gross margin %: –11.3% (identical to the segment average) -Grok.

Rivian posted a gross loss of $10,216 per vehicle delivered in 2025, and a net loss of $85,753 per vehicle. Can they cut $30,000 of cost out with the R2 platform? If they work hard they might have a shot at pulling it off but they will need to show a lot more discipline in their fixed costs as well. So far I'm not seeing any signs of discipline. Instead, they're investing like crazy. That works as long as they're able to raise more capital. RJ is going to need to be sleeping at the factory in Illinois and telling employees across the company to tighten their belts if they want to get through this without becoming a subsidiary of Volkswagen.

Tesla: we just launched fully driverless cars, no safety monitors critics: Ha, there’s only a few of them. Tesla is so doomed. Nvidia: We hope to launch a few cars on Uber with human safety drivers in 2027 critics: Holy shit, that’s so impressive! Tesla is so doomed.

@wholemars I think the trial should be a solid 6 months. These are teslas we’re talking about. Most people will be too busy enjoying the driving experience for a few months before they even think about letting the car do the work

Tesla NEEDS to do a free version of FSD Delivering cars with just TACC is a fucked up situation Please Tesla, this will supercharge adoption. It’s not for me, i’m a paid FSD user. But we need to hook the users who don’t want to or can’t pay.

This is my fear with Rivian. I think their cars are nice, but I don’t see long-term viability. Even in this 12-month outlook, they are including what they believe they can borrow. If markets keep declining and Saudi Arabia starts tightening spending, Rivian’s ability to access cash could be severely impacted. I know Rivian investors will try to compare Rivian to early Tesla, saying it’s normal to burn cash as a startup. That’s true. However, Rivian has been around for 19 years. They aren’t a fresh startup anymore.

Rivian believes that they have enough cash to continue operating for at least 12 months. Sooner or later (probably sometime this year) the company will have to raise "significant debt or equity financing" to continue on. Existing shareholders should expect dilution.

@Tesla_Dawg @wholemars Tesla had massive double digit gross margin. They can’t even break even. They’ll need way more than 300,000.

Tesla had a run rate of 300K vehicles a year before they became profitable……Rivian will need to get to a similar number to do the same…until then they will continue to burn cash…and they won’t achieve those numbers in 12 months….it’ll take them at lease 2-3 years…. All the “we’re doing this , doing that” is a stock pump to minimise the stock dilution that’s likely coming in the next 6 months…🤷🏻‍♂️

Not cool. Someone hacked my X account, changed the email address, disabled MFA (yes this was absolutely enabled for years, since it was offered). Hey @nikitabier we have a problem with platform security. Glad I was able to follow the process to secure my account, but feel there's no guarentees this doesn't happen again. Please fix. #InfoSec
