If it helps I’ve supported patients with low carb over a decade now, published in diabetes Canada how patient got off majority of their insulin , and advocated as well as reviewed evidence to update Canadas guidelines to include low carb. Intensive lifestyle and behaviour change is a core aspect of my work. I don’t like grift, liars, and selfish motives.

The fact the @BenBikmanPhD, a researcher and professor would agree, support, spread, or associate with Dr. Ammous in anyway tells you all that you need to know. Ben has swiftly been moving into influencer - grift zone but he is now clearly and unapologetically in the land of quackery.

“It’s improper for there to be racist laws in South Africa. The whole idea with what Nelson Mandela, who was a great man, proposed, was that all races should be on an equal footing in South Africa. That’s the right thing to do. Not to replace one set of racist laws with another set of racist laws, which is utterly wrong and improper. And so now I’m in this absurd situation where I was born in South Africa but cannot get a license to operate Starlink because I’m not black” -Elon Musk

Statins for the cholesterol the diet guidelines said was dangerous. Metformin for the type 2 diabetes the diet guidelines helped cause. Ozempic for the obesity the diet guidelines helped create. Proton pump inhibitors for the acid reflux the ultraprocessed diet caused. SSRIs for the depression the isolation, seed oil consumption, and nutrient deficiency contributed to. Melatonin for the sleep the screens disrupted. Vitamin D supplements for the deficiency the SPF and indoor living caused. Omega-3 capsules for the imbalance the seed oil displacement of animal fat created. Probiotics for the microbiome the antibiotics and processed food damaged. Collagen powder for the connective tissue nutrition the removal of organ meat and bone broth removed. Each drug treats a condition the previous recommendation helped cause. Each supplement replaces a nutrient the previous food policy removed. The 20th century was the most profitable century in pharmaceutical history. The 21st is on track to be worse. The guidelines that produced this outcome are still on your GP's wall. They are laminated. They look very official.

I’m at the point where I don’t believe any of these studies where people “didn’t eat seed oils”. So, they went to zero restaurants? Ate basically no food from packages? Never had salad dressing or used sauces? The only people NOT eating seed oils are those who are VERY specifically altering their lives in drastic ways, and people with crippling OCD and they only eat boiled cabbage or something. (Rare)

You decided to cut sugar. Brilliant. Genuinely. Good call. You still eat bread though. And pasta. And rice. And cereal. And the banana you had for a snack because it's "natural." Every single one of those becomes glucose the moment your body touches it. The packaging changes. The sugar doesn't. You haven't cut sugar. You've rebranded it.

Zero carb carnivore advocates claim humans never needed carbohydrates. But that's not what the anthropological record shows. The Samburu of Kenya are a pastoral, warrior people. They consume raw milk, blood, meat. And honey? Honey is sacred to them. What the science actually says: Humans have more copies of the amylase gene (AMY) than any other primate. Amylase breaks down starch and sugar. We evolved it precisely because our ancestors ate carbohydrates: honey, fruit, tubers, roots. Populations with higher carbohydrate exposure historically carry more AMY copies. That's not a coincidence. That's adaptation. Zero carb carnivore is not ancestral eating.

@carnivore_jt When your entire identity is tied to a carnivore diet you tend to overlook the evidence. Lions (and other big cats) fed only muscle meat, without bones, organs, or proper supplementation, commonly develop bone problems, including conditions that weaken bones significantly, often described as osteoporosis-like or leading to osteoporotic changes. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12437150/ This stems from a severe calcium deficiency combined with a poor calcium-to-phosphorus (Ca:P) ratio. Muscle meat is very low in calcium but high in phosphorus (typically a Ca:P ratio around 1:10 or worse in red meat like horsemeat or beef). Wild lions and big cats eat whole prey, including bones (rich in calcium and phosphorus), organs, skin, and other parts, which provide a balanced intake—roughly 1:1 to 2:1 Ca:P when bones are consumed. scribd.com/document/15229… This Happens Due to Nutritional Secondary Hyperparathyroidism from an All-Meat Disease - The body maintains blood calcium levels for critical functions (nerves, muscles, heart). When dietary calcium is insufficient, parathyroid hormone triggers the release of calcium from bones. - Over time, this causes bone demineralization, thinning, softening, and reduced density, leading to fibrous osteodystrophy, rickets (in growing animals), osteomalacia, fractures, deformities (e.g., bowed legs), lameness, reluctance to move, and in severe cases, paralysis or death. - In big cats like lions, tigers, and leopards, this is well-documented in veterinary literature as metabolic bone disease (MBD) or nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism (NSH). Classic historical cases include lion cubs at the London Zoo in the late 19th century fed lean horsemeat, which developed fatal "rickets" that improved when bones and cod-liver oil were added. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21092876/ Similar issues occur in captive big cats fed cheap ground or boneless meat without supplements, and in domestic cats/dogs on all-meat diets. wildcatridgesanctuary.org/metabolic-bone… AND agmv.ro/wp-content/upl… Evidence from Studies and Cases - Historical zoo data (London Zoo, 1889 onward) linked lean meat diets directly to bone disease in lions and leopards; adding minerals/bones helped. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19349374/ - Modern reports confirm NSH in lion cubs fed meat-based diets with inadequate calcium, causing soft, flexible bones and fractures. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15214697/ - Captive feeding guidelines stress that muscle meat alone is deficient; balanced diets include whole prey, bone-in meat, or supplements to maintain proper Ca:P ratios and prevent MBD. birdsandexotics.com/blog/exotic-fe… - Related animal studies (e.g., mice on high-meat diets) show weaker bones linked to nutrient imbalances (like relative copper deficiency), supporting the broader principle. Wild lions rarely face this because they consume carcasses holistically, including calcium-rich bones (especially marrow and smaller bones). They may preferentially eat organs and softer parts first but still ingest bone material. Captive animals on "meat-only" (boneless muscle) diets are at high risk unless supplemented. bvajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1136/ve… AND mdpi-res.com/d_attachment/a… @Alexleaf

The Honey Diet - Day 7 I gained around 3 lbs in the first 3 days (glycogen and water). Today, I’m down 0.4 lbs from my starting weight. Estimating at least 2-3 lbs of fat loss. I maintained 0.2-0.3 mmol/L ketones during the week, indicating ongoing fat oxidation. No issues with low mood or energy all week. No digestive problems. No cravings or binges. No decline in gym performance. Felt strange at times — kind of like a mix between fasting and cocaine. I did experience light hunger pangs and an occasional empty feeling in my stomach. Any questions? I’m not sure what people are curious about. What should I do next? Go another week? Try starches instead of sugar? Something else? Waking up - 2pm • 2x coffee + 2 tsp sugar each • 11 oz. OJ • 5 dates • 25 green grapes • 1.5 lbs watermelon + 4 tbsp maple syrup • random impulse to do handstands 3pm - 6:30pm • no sugar no food • no gym Dinner • 1.25 lb 88/12 ground beef • tomato sauce • squash + ghee • cocoa + milk Thanks to @anabology for the protocol.

Tomorrow, I’m starting @anabology’s honey diet. Planning to give it 7 days but will stop early if needed, since I usually follow a ketogenic diet for mental health. This will be my first non-keto experiment in 5-6 years. Protocol and rationale here: longestlevers.com

Carbohydrates fuel brain development. Glucose metabolism in the brain peaks as the brain develops in young age, and decreases with age. Worsened glucose metabolism underlies: • Depression • Brain cancer • Alzheimer's & more. Fuel it accordingly.

Children have up to 50% higher metabolism than adults. As we age: ‣ Metabolic rate drops ‣ Thyroid function lowers ‣ Stress hormones rise ‣ Steroid hormones drop ‣ Glucose metabolism worsens ‣ Omega 6 fats accumulate These are the true keys to aging gracefully.

The VAERS database (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) was created when Reagan signed the NCVIA (National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act) into law. NCVIA gave vaccine manufacturers a liability shield from side effects, injuries & deaths. Censoring VAERS chat is beyond evil.
