Some large branches are stuck fast under the bridge at the Shore so the contractors will be using additional equipment to carry out some more Water of Leith basin debris-clearing on Thursday #teamwork @forthports @WOLCT

The portion of the water either side of Sandport bridge is loaded with branches, logs etc. stuck in various places, and in main tourist area. This needs to be on the clean up rota.

@Edinburgh_CC @WOLCT @adamrmcvey There is still a lot of tree and other debris lodged mid-water from above Sandport Pl. and in front of the main tourist restaurant area, which will only clog the basin again if not removed. When will that also be cleared?

A huge amount of progress has been made on the clear up of the #waterofleith basin - well done to all of the workers 👍 contractors will be back on site tomorrow, they will keep removing the debris which has built up over many years + has been made worse by heavy rain
