If I put nitrous and racing slicks on my car, it is ilegal to use on a public highway, but it's still a car. If someone puts a 300w motor on their e-bike instead of 250w, it's still an e-bike just not legal to be used on a public highway.

I get that it's illegal and probably not even an epac anymore, but it's still an e-bike.

The Highway Code has been developed over many years, with the aid of ongoing data and statistics, to give a balanced and fair set of rules for ALL road users to follow. The Law is based on this!

@Zorpheous @MarkMurrah That is what makes it a cycle lane not a cycle track. Cycle "lanes" like other lanes on the road are delineated as such.

Funny how motorists think and believe that if there is a cycling lane that they can pass these cyclist “safely and legally” in this situation. I’m thankful and appreciative that the first motor vehicle behind the cyclists knows better.

Well I guess it won't be long until the recently resurfaced De Beauvoir Rd #Cycleway1 is obliterated again soon by all the motor traffic that's STILL being allowed to use it. Hopefully the new @hackneycouncil Mayor @ZoeGarbett (congrats!) can help sort this!

If only we could devise some kind of system whereby householders and businesses could pay a small amount each month to a local authority, for them to organise guys to clean the drains of crap. Wouldn’t that be great?

@BigThickSlices Council wouldn't be able to do that. They would need traffic lights and to put up barriers around the drains. Probably need a team of 4 to do it, maybe with someone overseeing the job too.

And we’re taking them out in the town centre. Croydon’s roads should work. Lend your vote to Jason Perry and your local Conservative candidates on 7th May.

@JasonForCroydon Brighton Rd in 2008 and 2017 before the cycle lane wands. Stop blaming cycle lanes for problems caused by too many single occupancy cars!

@richardparke15 @0fukstogive @Ichi_Batt @RupertLowe10 I said unnecessary tailback, not traffic, to avoid a silly tangential argument that "bikes don't cause traffic, vehicles do." The TAILBACK was caused by the slow moving bikes, (it can be tractors, lorries, vans, cars etc) but in this instance it was bikes.

I was on an NSL travelling at 10 - 15mph, because an artic & the half dozen other vehicles in front of me were unable to pass a group of cyclists. They passed several pull ins & two laybys. The queue behind me continued further than I could see.

People said Labour wouldn’t change anything. Today 11 million renters get stronger rights. Section 21 abolished. Bidding wars banned. Rent rises limited. Discrimination against families and benefit claimants stopped. That is a massive shift of power from landlords to renters.

@Skorge1960 @DavidMcGregorBN I don't have a "buy to let". I bought my flat to live in, moved for work, kept it in case the new career did not pan out. Now have it rented out. Will give it to my daughter when she is older.

@DavidMcGregorBN I don't own a buy to let property and I'm really glad I don't. Where is the protection for an owner against someone not paying their rent? Why would you want to rent your property to a benefit claimant? Many won't respect the property. Just look at some of the council houses.
