Agree 100%. In India too, we have Haldiram as the primary food outlet in many hospitals where many visit for cardiac surgeries and diabetes. Post @LocalCircles survey on #insurance #darkpatterns #IRDAI acted within 2 weeks & issued a mandate for insurance platforms/companies to become dark pattern free. In this day & age of AI, this is the kind of action orientation public wants to see from regulators & ministries! Also, hats off to @DainikBhaskar @bsindia @medianama for their good journalism. Currently only 20% of the seats are free and as a result 53% flyers in the @localcircles survey said while booking their flight in the last 12 months, they never saw a free seat. Your decisions should be based on data @RamMNK @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia and not purely on representations from airline lobbies. Seems like @RamMNK & his team at @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia have acted in favour of the industry lobbying and put the progressive reform of capping percentage of seats sold on an airplane on hold. Families will continue to pay for sitting together on flights. Hope better sense prevails soon.. @VishnuFNO @ProsaicView @malpani @ikaveri @ggganeshh @speakshoutroar

@UberEats & @Uber in USA continue to deploy several dark patterns and nothing is being done by @FTC @AFergusonFTC which gives them the confidence to use whatever manipulative practices they feel like. Similar is the case in India. Consumer complaints against #UberIndia using dark patterns continue to be received and #CCPA @jagograhakjago fails to take actions @JoshiPralhad @inidhikhare if simple investigations take 18 months, then in this day & age of #AI & quick, something else needs to be done to address consumer issues faster. I am glad that more of us are raising these issues and thankful that @SmalhotraRBI @RBI is the first regulator after #CCPA notified dark patterns as illegal to act. We @LocalCircles have written to 5 other regulators and hopeful that they will also act. As far as banking#darkpatterns go what you have illustrated comes under #forcedaction dark patterns where for consumers to access certain services they are made to share unnecessary & redundant information soniy can be harvested later.
