@CodeRed_dev Ah solo dev where you get to be both people and just yell at yourself
English

@CodeRed_dev I would simply give in and do it their way
English

@CodeRed_dev Didn't you post this like 3 times already? C'mon give us some new content.
English

@CodeRed_dev This kind of story-first AAA design is becoming very outdated.
English

@CodeRed_dev Not already having the idea ready is problem #1 here. Not being able to communicate with others is problem #2. Oddly enough people always say that idea's are easy to come by and everyone has one, yet the artist and the programmer are in dire need of an "idea guy." Interesting 🤔
English

@CodeRed_dev acualy i like to make my game from bottom up
first the gameplay than a story that fits it somehow...
that is how quake, doom and such got started and i think that i can do it too
English

@CodeRed_dev Fortunately as a solo dev I can just develop schizophrenia.
I can, too!
English

@CodeRed_dev I saw this argument before
The answer is: depends on the game you're making lol
In my case story is indeed dictating the types of gameplay there are
English

@CodeRed_dev Solo devs are fine, but if you don’t want to spend extreme amounts of time on each game, you’ve gotta partner up. Arguments like this rarely happen anyway with good communication from both people
English

@CodeRed_dev Ehy guys I have a cool idea for a game never done before, I need 14 coders, 25 artists and 43 composers. We're gonna make a new viral game like Untertale. I can't pay you unfortunately. Also I can't tell you the idea otherwise others will steal it.
English

@CodeRed_dev Probably true. I still want an artist though... :D
English

@CodeRed_dev If any programmer wants an artist/storywriter to make games with hmu bro I used to program myself so I understand the need to be flexible here
English

@CodeRed_dev its easy to do both, but i am fine with working with a team. for me it depends. if making a new world and more, story then gameplay.
if making something lively or more silly/brain shutoff: then gameplay over story. if gameplay complements the story then that even better
English

@CodeRed_dev Decide on functions and features first. Slap a story after.
English

@CodeRed_dev If you're an artist in this type of situation (As I've been). You need to have the whole game figured out. Usually programmers don't have the creative chops to figure all this stuff out and make it great.
English

@CodeRed_dev Consider converting #JustCause3 (open world shoot explode flee) to other genres : card game. Match-3. Turn based text boxes reading JRPG. Text only adventure. Racing game. Corridor maze stealth. Dating sim.
.
Yes, #JustCause3 dating sim.
English

@CodeRed_dev Me!!! I'm the artist!!! I need a programmer buddy pls 🙏
English

@CodeRed_dev Ironically, the story doesn't dictate gameplay all that much. You can have an RPG or a beat em up in any setting with any story.
English

@CodeRed_dev I may have had discussions and some disagreements with @infidelity_nes in regards to the game we were doing for Zelda - Legend of Link, but it never went out like the above.
If anything we had our priorities, but I understood his very well and finished what we intended.
English

@CodeRed_dev The Story has nothing to do with the gameplay.. o_0
