@SecretFire79 Oh good. You're sewing strife and division. Just like Satan commanded.

@SecretFire79 Here are some major differences between the Mary in the Bible and the Catholic Mary...

English

@SecretFire79 They all become Catholic eventually.
I believe that when protestants die they spend time in purgatory undergoing OCIA.
English

@SecretFire79 I was more RC than most on here, for 20 years, and I left when read the bible.
Got saved 10 years later and the chains of legalism and man made tradition had come off. I was truly free in Christ.
English

@SecretFire79 And the best catechized Catholic becomes Orthodox ☺️
English

@SecretFire79 So many lifelong prots end up becoming Catholic, you never see the opposite.
English

@SecretFire79 And the ones who truly study Church history become EO.
English

1. We have a pastor on staff that is a former Catholic
2. My men’s Bible study teacher is a former Catholic
3. My late best friend was a former Catholic
4. Five of my other friends who attend church with me are former Catholics
5. A good 1/3 rd of out congregation (4000) are former Catholics.
They are all well versed in Biblical teachings because our church teaches the Bible in the exposition manner.
English

@SecretFire79 You mean those who can read the Bible for themselves leave the Catholic fold
English

@SecretFire79 Hot take: This is true, but it is also to the salvific benefit of everyone involved that this is the case.
English

@SecretFire79 The best educated on the gospel and atonement of Jesus Christ are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

English

@SecretFire79 Actually, "the worst-catechized Catholics" post the same "low IQ prots", "the best/worst Catholic and best/worst Protestant..", "40k + denominations, all different" etc. nonsense/bad faith arguments day after day..
English

@SecretFire79 “Smart people come to my position and dumb people leave my position”
English

@SecretFire79 Catechism and the sacraments were part of my life growing up. And then I read the history of the Catholic Church and left. I became a Christian over 50 years ago and never looked back.
English

There has been a mass exodus from Catholicism for decades, but ok. The case for joining the RCC is a case, but not a strong one. Understanding the roots of Marian doctrine, Popes allowing pagan idols and other religions into places of worship, “veneration” of statues that highly resemble idol worship have be enough for most reasonable people to steer clear of it.
English

@SecretFire79 So remember, my catholic to Christian bretheren- your old church thinks you're retards and didn't want you anyway.
That's the message they have for you.
English

@SecretFire79 And the most blind point out the speck in others eyes while ignoring the log in their own.
English

@SecretFire79 I would NEVER be a Catholic! You put the church above the Bible!
English

@SecretFire79 Catholics are arrogant, ignorant, and STUPID. And they REFUSE to read their Bibles.
English

@SecretFire79 I always say this: Catholic schools always fail in teaching Cathecism. That’s why there are so many lukewarm Catholics
English

@SecretFire79 I really hate the division that is set forth by churches, I am Protestant, I am saved.

This will save souls ..... Love Fulfills the Law – Not Legalism
I believe every “Thou shalt not” in the Bible.
I believe the Sermon on the Mount word for word.
But Jesus said Love conquers all (Matt 22:37-40).
The deeper we walk in His Love, the less we need the rules—because Love does no harm (Rom 13:10).
Thou shalt not steal ... Because Love gives.
Thou shalt not lie ... Because Love speaks truth in kindness.
Thou shalt not covet ... Because Love is content.
Love doesn’t break the law, it completes it.
The Pharisees Proved It, They were history’s greatest Bible nerds:
- Meticulous record keepers
- Memorized the Torah
- Counted their steps on the Sabbath
- Tithing mint, dill, cumin etc.
Yet Jesus said to them: “You missed the point,” and called them "liars and hypocrites."
"Justice, mercy, faithfulness—these matter more" (Matt 23:23). They knew the text, but missed the heart.
So What About Us?
We quote the New Testament like a new Torah—
“Paul said…”
“James said…”
“You must believe X to be saved…”
What if we’re the modern Pharisees? Obsessed with being right ... Missing the Love that Jesus said is #1
The NT writers didn’t agree on everything—but they all agreed on Love:
- Paul: “Love never fails” (1 Cor 13:8)
-John: “God is Love” (1 John 4:8)
-James: “Mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13)
-Peter: “Love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Pet 4:8)
We might have a lot of the NT wrong ... Not in the words, but in how we use them. Jesus didn’t come to give us a better rulebook, He came to give us His heart. Follow Love hard enough, and the “Thou shalt nots” take care of themselves. That’s not watering down the Bible. That’s living it like Jesus meant.
English

@SecretFire79 The sacrament of reconciliation is how you work out your forgiveness with God on Earth. Consuming the Eucharist bestows the RIGHT to forgive by Jesus’s AUTHORITY to forgive others transgressions against you. Forgive as you are forgiven. You can’t do this by your own word. One way
