Tanner Horner abducted and killed Athena Strand while delivering a Barbie to her home in North Texas. In newly released footage, Horner could be heard whining to police about how he won't be able to watch his son grow up if he goes to prison. Horner was heard accusing a voice in his head named 'Zero' of making him kill Athena. "I'm going to miss out on all my son's Christmases, his birthdays, and growing up. I doubt constantly about maybe my receptors never returned the baseline, maybe they were downregulated. Any recommendations?

People are getting brain damage when they try to come off antidepressants (especially with rapid, doctor directed tapers) The truth is: we still don’t fully understand the long-term effects these drugs have on the brain
What we do see, in real life, is life-altering withdrawal and irreversible neurological damage affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
Some people take one pill and lose their sexuality, their cognition,their ability to feel love or connection.
And for some, it never comes back.

Before someone starts an SSRI, they should know about PSSD.
Persistent sexual dysfunction that does not go away when the drug stops.
Not rare. Documented. A 13% rate in some populations.
Nobody mentions this at the prescription counter. Nobody mentioned it in the media campaign defending these medications.
Informed consent means telling people the full risk. Not just the part that makes them say yes.

So you didn't read the study properly. They didn't mention anything about PSSD. They simply compared their genital sensation to those who took other psych drugs or none at all.
You don't know if it's higher than in the general population because they never asked these questions during the SSRI trials. And it's not something psychiatrists ask their patients either. Very few patients are going to bring up such a delicate and embarrassing issue on their own. PSSD is under-studied and under-reported.

NfL levels don't rise when small or thinly myelinated nerve fibers are damaged, only when large protein rich one's are. And the majority of synapses in the brain are made up of small fibers. There could be a ton of damage to these small fibers and serum NfL levels would still be normal. And guess which type of nerve fiber is more susceptible to electrical damage, the large insulated ones or small ones without protection?

It's way higher than 0.46% fool. All they did was look at the percentage of previous SSRI users who have an active viagra prescription. It doesn't take a genius to see the problem with that.
This study, on the other hand, found 13% has persistent genital anesthesia long after stopping.

@hanna_pssd @DanielleGansky It's actually 92k-130k. Like close to 100k. 0.46% of prevalence of PSSD times the rough estimate of American adults on SSRIs.
The good SSRIs do is so far and beyond the risk of this rare side effect it's damn near not worth mentioning. Skill issue if you get it honestly.

This is too real. It’s more horrible than people think. These medications adapt your whole body to them, in ways we don’t understand yet. And pulling the meds out after years on them can cause neurological damage. It’s a catastrophe and it’s going to impact almost every family.

But if a psychiatrist combines an antidepressant, an antipsychotic and a mood stabiliser, it’s framed as “clinical mastery,” “precision psychiatry” and “evidence based care,” rather than the potential recipe for disaster it is for many patients. 🤔
