@9000martin9000 Boomers grew up without computers, Late Gen Z grew up with computers that were easy, and gen alpha is raised on chromebooks/iPads which give you zero technical skills. As usual this is all just stereotypes, people who are skilled and love computers exist in every generation.

@Eris1294 @MaplePrism @discord It was kind of a great deal when it was $5.(or free if you played your cards right) If you played lots of new releases it was great, and made me play a bunch of games I probably wouldn't have thought to try. Not even close to worth it now though.

@splatti47255029 @llIllIIIlII1 @NikTek @SynthPotato Partly, but it's also playing on a tablet. Most switch ports are hobbled to some degree to get it to work on a portable device. The Outer Worlds port is a good example.

Modders have managed to compress GTA 5 from 120GB down to 2.5GB It required removing missions, audio, maps and more, somehow the game still functions despite all the cuts and is the most ultra lightweight version of GTA 5 to date

@DOSSTORM No you could actually buy these IBM Sound cards & also have a PCMCIA version. For professional systems for high end speech & other! MWAVE board was let down by system resource conflicts & aspirations of OS/2 Warp! Total MSDOS incompatibility was the killer of MWAVE

@DOSSTORM on MWAVE vid then check out the chip date on this IBM sound card as used +5yrs! Both these cards had MOD origins trying to make money in the civilian market! I used these cards back in the day. Biggest issue on MWAVE was drivers Incompatibility & programing filters!

@JCeacc @PcPhilanthropy HDMI sucks for audio latency, and it's probably the worst modern connector type in terms of durability.

@PcPhilanthropy Those audio ports are no longer necessary. HDMI handles audio output just fine. And for headphones there's bluetooth.

@natedamm @TracketPacer They are used on cinecams, but they aren't used for much else unfortunately.

@animefanatic781 @Pirat_Nation Yeah I find it very strange that a certain group of people act like handing out the title of "gamer" is a big deal. In the end it's just entertainment, it's not a title that makes you special and it's a video game regardless of if you like the platform or not.
