After what seemed like a nerve-wracking vigil and wait (will they, won't they?) the Lesser flamingo finally landed on Navi Mumbai shores this week, a full six months behind schedule. Already in their glorious pink plumage they are exhibiting courtship display. What a sight!

The elusive (Indian) one-horned rhino or Rhinocerous unicornis wallowing in a waterbody at the UNESCO heritage Kaziranga National Park. Excellent swimmer and runner this two tonner commands respect. When it crosses your path in the jungle you got to keep safe distance. #wildlife

Greetings on #HanumanJayanti Blessed to have visited the Anjanadri Hill Temple, birthplace of Lord Hanuman in Anegondi, Hampi (pic3). The first two pics depict stone carvings of Anjaneya in the exquisite Hazara Rama Temple in royal center of erstwhile Vijayanagara empire.

@authoramish I visited Hampi last October. Mindblown by the ecological niche of rocks and boulders that fittingly sustain the Indian sloth bear, hanuman langur, leopards. What fascinated me in your clip was Lord Hauman's face carved by the hillside; didnt see that though I went up Anjanadri.

Climbed Hampi’s ancient boulders with my twin brother Ashish, my son Neel and my nephew Aiden. Climbing is a great activity. Every muscle group gets exercised. And it's almost like meditation, coz if you allow your mind to wander, you will fall and break something! 😁

ROUBLE NAGI - रूबल नागी@ROUBLENAGI

Life is not a straight line drawn with certainty, it is a living timeline shaped by pauses, detours & moments that arrive precisely when they are meant to. We move forward believing we are in control, yet destiny has a quiet way of finding us at the exact intersection where growth is inevitable. Not early, not late, only right. There are moments that do more than pass through us, they recalibrate us. They shift our inner compass. Sometimes they arrive as joy, sometimes as loss, sometimes as an unexpected pause that forces reflection. In hindsight, we realize these moments were not interruptions but course corrections , gentle or jarring reminders that we had wandered onto an offbeat road & needed to return to our truer path. What is meant to be will not miss you. It may test your patience, stretch your faith, or ask you to unlearn before you relearn but it will find you. Life’s wisdom lies not in resisting these moments, but in meeting them with humility. Gratitude, even in uncertainty, is an act of trust, trust that every chapter is shaping us for what lies ahead. The journey, after all, is not about reaching a destination untouched. It is about being transformed along the way aligned, refined & realigned until we become who we were always meant to be. #MotivationalMonday #Faith #ThankYouGod 🙏🏻❤️ @RNAFMUMBAI @TeacherPrize @MisaalMumbai

@PadmajaParulkar penned this tribute to her father, Late Subhash Ramkrishna Parulkar (1937–2025) on Navy Day, this year. In this personal note, she reflects on a "lesser-known" aspect of his life and service as a Sailor in the Indian Navy. Navy Day greetings from Meluha Maritime! Today, we salute the men and women of the Indian Navy, the guardians of India’s maritime frontiers, first responders in crisis, champions of indigenisation, and a force that defines courage, competence, and character at sea. From safeguarding the Indian Ocean Region to leading HADR missions and projecting stability across the seas, the Navy remains India’s enduring maritime strength. Fair winds and following seas to our men in white. Meluha Maritime sets sail! From the seafaring civilisation of Meluha to the Indian Navy of today, India’s maritime story spans millennia — of trade and tides, and strategy and sea power. Meluha Maritime Consulting is born from this continuum — a boutique consultancy dedicated to advancing knowledge, awareness, and discourse on India’s maritime and naval domain. Founded by Commodore @srikantkesnur, a noted historian and naval leader & scholar, and @zwerubae, a startup entrepreneur and naval historian, Meluha Maritime brings together operational insight, entrepreneurial energy, and historical scholarship to illuminate India’s maritime legacy and its contemporary relevance. Our work spans: * Research & Publications – Authoritative studies on India’s maritime and naval history. * Advisory & Consultancy – Expert guidance for institutions, museums, and media projects. * Education & Outreach – Courses, lectures, and initiatives to foster maritime awareness. * Media & Podcasts – Multimedia content, including Maritime Conversations, our flagship video series. * Innovation & Industry Consulting – Consulting for startups and firms innovating in maritime and naval technology. Guided by an eminent Advisory Board (@abhilashtomy , @SandeepUnnithan , @hemantkhatri07 , @kamalikabose , @prabalmohanty ) and supported by a dynamic Research Cohort, Meluha Maritime seeks to serve as a credible bridge between scholarship, strategy, and innovation. As we set sail, we invite you to explore our work, engage with our ideas, and join us in shaping a deeper understanding of India’s maritime past and future. @sankkulkarni @SaheliJNU @arjuniyer002 @harshshah0904 meluhamaritime.com

Artisans scrambling against deadlines to deliver Durga idols for pandals across Mumbai. While the idols are made in Matunga, material - soil, sarees etc. - is sourced from Kolkata. The floods played havoc with timelines; rest assured idols were delivered by Shasthi. #Durgotsav
