I'd rather be studying Etruscan artifacts, but ... politics.

I spoke to Anthropic’s AI agent Claude about AI collecting massive amounts of personal data and how that information is being used to violate our privacy rights. What an AI agent says about the dangers of AI is shocking and should wake us up.

@AcunaAndrew Even if he admits error, how does he get the straits of hormuz open? We're still committed at this point.

NOW - Netanyahu: "Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good."

NEW: US allies do not see a realistic way of reopening the Strait of Hormuz without ending the war. G7 countries have been discussing how they could help Trump. There are conversations about a framework for Hormuz security. The UK has sent military planners to the US for talks. But the reality is these conversations are at a very early stage and US allies are not looking at sending naval assets until the conflict eases. US allies are yet to be convinced there is any credible military plan to reopen the strait. The UK has been in talks with Lloyds of London about insurance products and prices when the situation calms. But even then insurance is not seen as the big issue - it is safety. It marks a widening disconnect between the US and Europe over the war amid concerns Trump ultimately doesn’t have a plan. Meanwhile energy prices are soaring, bonds tumbling and interest rates are set to rise. With @EllenAMilligan @golnarM >> bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Trump: "Some of this weaponry is unthinkable. You don't even want to know about it. Oh, you could end this thing in two seconds if you wanted to."

Fox News mocked Prime Minister Takaichi after she silently accepted an insulting joke from Trump about Pearl Harbor: "Point taken, because the Prime Minister had no comeback for that." Pro-Trump social media users are also laughing about it.

.@SECWAR “To date, we have struck over 7,000 targets across Iran and its military infrastructure. That is not incremental. That is OVERWHELMING FORCE applied with precision. Again, today will be the LARGEST STRIKE PACKAGE YET—just like yesterday was... we are hunting, striking, delivering death and destruction from above.”

Q: Can you explain why a package this large is necessary? HEGSETH: First of all, none of this would've been possible without Midnight Hammer. Without that audacious mission with very clear goals that did obliterate their ability to enrich. We're still dealing with the environment Joe Biden created.
