🚨 Axis cards strategy change - Part 2
First part was about transferring points.
This part is about the usage and spend patterns of the Axis cards going forward.
🔸 Atlas:
▸ No more an everyday spend card.
▸ No more chasing milestones.
▸ Mainly for 10% spends - flights, hotels, etc
🔸 Olympus:
▸ Some portion of everyday spends if Group A on M4B is exhausted and not an AEP month.
▸ Otherwise normal usage (jewellery, forex, 3rd night free, etc)
🔸 M4B:
▸ Everyday spend card on AEP months. Otherwise 25% of spends on non AEP (till group A limit) and the rest on Premier
▸ No more Travel Edge spends on M4B and will shift to HSBC Rewards Marketplace

🚨 Axis cards strategy change - Part 1 Now that Accor is gone (atleast for now), this is how I plan to take things forward. In this post, going to talk about how I am going to deal with transferring of Axis EDGE miles and points (EM/ER). 🔸 Then: I used to just transfer to Accor as and when I earn EM/ER. You can see the below screenshot. I have posted for subscribers and generally also that for Axis, always better to keep transferring once you know which partner you wish to transfer. 🔸 Now: For now I don’t intend to speculatively transfer my EM/ER even for group A partners. I would wait till I have a clear use case and the availability before transferring to air miles. Maybe at the end of the year I would decide as what to do with the balance Group A quota. This is about points transfers and I would have a couple of more posts on this topic.

✈️ Sudden europe plans , who cares when the artillery of miles are at disposal.
✨Booked 7 x Economy redemptions on two different FFPS - QATAR Avios and FLYING BLUE .
🔥 Miles burned -
👉110000 avios + 853 euros taxes ( 4 pax) for Qatar Airways
👉 90750 flying blue miles + 74k taxes ( 3 pax) for Etihad
🔻Downside lost on per mile value on economy redemptions and seeing the revenue prices would have not made sense to go with the redemptions but then have to sweep out those idling miles.
✅ Upside was nominal cancellation charges in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
✅ Out of pocket expense reduced drastically.

🚨 Indian passport holders no longer need a France transit visa when passing through en route to a third country ✈️
Earlier, this exemption was only for those with visas from the US, Canada, Japan, or EU. Now it applies to everyone.
This has also been updated on the official France Visas platform.

@LiveFromALounge I am also trying to look up some. My last experience where we just were trying to do a road trip with her to a beach was horrible. She got cold and took 3 days to recover. 😔 Ever since, I have been very sceptical. You love some suggestions in/around Mumbai, if you have some. ♥️

There is a reason I don’t do homestays much. And every time I try it out, there is a surprise. Like someone in the hills knowing that we were travelling with our pup and suppressing information about the fact that within 30 metres (next door) there are 10 tibetian mastiffs who the owner keeps “for fun”

you must be travelling the same airline as every one else if you’d need to be in the queues, because for airlines elites and J class pax, there are no queues. Walk in at will. Moral of the story, don’t dunk on others when they are at par with you.

“Airport Lounges Are the New Railway Waiting Rooms?” Airports used to feel premium. Now they feel like a waiting room with better lighting. I travel ~150 times a year, and I’ve noticed a clear shift. Earlier, lounge access felt like a real perk. Swipe your card → walk in → शांत space, good food, zero chaos. Now? Same lounge access… but with a queue longer than boarding. Because suddenly, everyone has it. Banks, cards, programs...all selling lounge access as a “premium feature.” But when everyone is premium… no one really is. I’ve genuinely started doing this now: Skip the lounge → grab a quick coffee at a café → eat outside → board. Faster. Simpler. Less frustration. Feels ironic that something designed to save time….now makes you wait more. Maybe the real premium today is not access. It’s time and ease. Have you faced the similar sitution?
