The biggest blow to Mormonism is the Egyptian papyri Smith claimed to translate. The Church lost it, and then later found it and handed it to Egyptologists, they said it was just a generic piece of the Book of the Dead. A funerary text, basically. Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon/LDS Church, had around 30-40 wives. Publicly, he acknowledged only 1: Emma. The rest were kept secret until after his death. Luke 8:17 "For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light." What kind of "prophet" restoring the gospel would lead like this? True restoration aligns with Scripture, not contradicts it.
