The DOJ ruled it justified self-defense. DHS said Good "weaponized her vehicle." Video analysis showed her car was turning away from the agent when he fired. A family autopsy found she was shot in the head. Minnesota wanted to investigate but the FBI took sole control within hours, cutting state investigators out of the evidence and scene. Vice President Vance said the agent had "absolute immunity." The shooting was the first homicide in Minneapolis in 2026 and the ninth time ICE agents opened fire on people since September 2025. The agent, Jonathan Ross, is an Iraq War veteran who was dragged by a car during a separate arrest six months earlier. Good's killing sparked national protests and triggered the ongoing DHS shutdown. No independent investigation was conducted.
