Never would I have believed five years ago that I would be attacked, smeared and harassed by Adam Back, Shinobi, MrHodl and others for publishing a fully sourced investigation article about Bitcoin Core governance. It doesn't quite feel compatible with the whole "don't trust, verify" and decentralization mantras. It really is an unbelievable state of affairs. Appeals to authority, shaming, ad hominems, smears.... Zero engagement with the imo shocking revelations of the articles.

I’m seeing in the hashrate rentals movement the same thing I saw with node runners switching away from Core. Node runners empowering themselves. And it’s beautiful. Your node matters, the hashrate you have/rent matters, the decision you take matters.

The fact that people take issue with plebs renting hash, literally spending their own sats, but stay quiet when blockspace is being flooded with spam and users are being farmed for it, says everything. This isn’t about principles. It’s about selective outrage.
