Let’s start thinking about the deadline bc the @Mets are done, cooked, finished. Here is an outline: 1. Fire Mendoza and Stearns long before the deadline. You cannot allow David Stearns to make another consequential decision for this team. 2. Trade Clay Holmes. Big value there. 3. Get whatever you can for Senga. He can’t be a Met anymore. 4. Trade Luis Robert. He sucks but his cheap team option may be attractive to a buyer 5. Trade Devin Williams and eat the entire contract. Just write it off as a Stearns fuck up and since you’ve already fired Stearns, just eat it. 6. Trade Baty and Vientos for whatever you can get. Like Senga, they can’t be Mets any longer. 7. Hold onto Bichette. He will be better and he’s almost guaranteed not to opt out now 8. Hold Luke Weaver. 9. Promote Ryan Clifford, AJ McEwing and santucci. Give them low leverage opportunities to learn the bigs. 10. Trade Freddy Peralta. He’s a rental. He’s not an ace. He will bring back value. 11. Keep Manaea to eat inning this year and DFA him after the season. 12. Keep Austin Warren in the majors. He may be better than most of our relief core. 13. Trade Brozaban. Someone will buy. 14. Fire Stearns and Mendoza. Yeah I know I already said it but it bears repeating. 15. Sign skubal.

I don’t know if you all agree with me or not but my main point is. It’s not that they took a dart throw at a QB it’s what a lot of us wanted. It’s the fact they traded up to do it. This is the 4th round not the 6th round. There were olineman and safeties that were still on the board. The DT we took that to me is another wasted pick. #Jets never felt like a true fit for a guy like Garrett Nussmeier. They need someone more athletic who can make plays when things break down. They get that exactly with Klubnik. He's the kind of developmental QB that NY can work with this season. Smart pick. Not worried about a trade-up either. Shows they really liked the kid (as other teams did).
