A child's behavior isn't about me. They're not doing this to me. It's a symptom like a sneeze showing us a cold, a cut showing there's a wound, and a scab showing us healing. This behavior is showing us that the nervous system is rough. Can we become curious? What is underneath?

@MsPinkBehavior I’d say 10% upset about the disruption, 90% nosy. She was wanting to ask the principal why these teachers left and wanted details. Everyone in the comments was like “girl…”

I’m trying to be as supportive as I can on a mom forum post regarding a mom trying to go to the school principal to demand why her son’s teacher just quit and why 4 teachers quit mid-year last year but I don’t know if I can “be kind” my way out of saying “it’s not your business.”

@singingsox I was in a kindergarten room where the CO2 was clocked at 2585 ppm. I’m like OSHA has (had?) rules about full grown adults at 5000 ppm. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Furthermore, regardless of Covid/viruses, high classroom CO2 concentrations (above 1000ppm) also impede cognition, which is exactly the opposite of what you want in a place of learning. We have a serious indoor ventilation issue in this country, in workplaces & schools alike.

I just saw someone claim that in their state, schools were closed for two years. Is that true anywhere in the USA? It wasn’t true in Washington & it wasn’t true in Massachusetts. Are people conflating wearing masks with closed? Or was there a state with actually CLOSED schools

$1,004/MONTH student loan payment❗️🥴😫 the "Big Beautiful Bill" will deplete what little savings my family has. I've been on the SAVE plan for my federal student loans since it became an option a couple years ago and I was paying $450 per month as I pursue Public Service Loan Forgiveness (after 10 years of payments) BUT my loan servicer got switched (MOHELA) and they've had me paying nothing during Administrative Forbearance while they change many public servants over to this company. The "BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL" just became law and August 1st ALL loans will start accruing interest again (regardless of the Administrative forbearance) and only 2 repayment plans are allowed - Anxious, I decided to put in my income & family info to see what my new loan payment would be. $1,150/month without taking into account having it based on income and children. With that added in, I got my payment lowered to $1,004/month. I'll tell you this right now, I CANNOT afford to pay $1,004/month in student loans (not including my husband's loans), my daughter's daycare, health insurance, and basic necessities. I am FLOORED right now - what an utter slap in the face as a public educator and someone who has NEVER been delinquent in a payment to my student loans nor any other debt. Sadly, we decided that staying in Administrative forbearance and just accruing tons of interest is what we will have to do because that payment is not feasible for us without burning through emergency savings - I'm really worried 😟

Hi!! Public school educator here!! 1) Its bogus we need a master's degree to teach. That's a rip off.. 2) we work 185 days a yr.. and get awesome benefits.. oh other states pay more 3) cops risk their lives 4) if we were teaching better we wouldn't need as many cops 5) we work straight days, no holidays.. they work overnights, weekends, holidays, miss their kids.. shut up. 6) are you going to show up at the 7/11 when the kid you didn't teach to respect life but taught white men are bad and all cops are bastards is committing a gunpoint robbery? 7) are you willing to wear a camera throughout your shift? Sit down.

I have a Masters degre, 15 years of teaching experience at the secondary level and post secondary level, and make $55,000 a year. The money is there to pay teachers but the American public has decided it's better to pay cops. I hate y'all.
