@ClimateGuy4 @BSte1m @RealXavier011 Not the reason it was disqualified. It was proximity to nearest airport. There are two stadiums at higher elevations than Denver in the World Cup this year

@smerkinkones Most us stadiums are in their cities relative downtown, we were making fun of the ones walking to specifically bad stadiums miles away from downtowns

@frmarcellinus Relax, Mexico did that decades earlier in 1986. It’s not the flex you think it is. Infact it’s not the first time for the US- they did in 1994. Granted that it’s an expanded format nowadays but again Mexico hosted it alone, unlike this year with three hosts.

The fact that the US didn't have to panic-build stadiums and other facilities for the world cup because the amenities are just there, and have always been there, still baffles me. No country comes close ngl.

@SlowpokeCon @TheLuthInn That would be a correct fact to point out if it had any thing to do with the 1:3 ratio of convert to cradle members, but it has nothing to do with the original post

The Luther Inn@TheLuthInn·
The LCMS under President Harrison has maintained one of the highest convert to cradle ratios in American Christianity, with 1 in 3 LCMS members being converts. This number is substantially higher than that of both Baptists and Roman Catholics.

@imkikosuarez It’s awesome how for 6 months leading up to the tournament there was nothing but complaints from spoiled Europeans about how bad the venues and games would be, and now that it’s started… it’s going amazingly and people are realizing how awesome US stadiums and infrastructure is.

@AvoidPerception I see, so Harrison is more business as usual, and Biermann wants to make some changes? I see you said Harrison is conservative, does Biermann want to relax some of the conservative practices of the LCMS?

@NotSpudly Harrison is most likely to be reelected, though Biermann does have a chance. Harrison is the “establishment” conservative candidate. Biermann’s platform has been based on sympathy towards expanding routes to ordination and emphasizing “discipling” over uniform doctrine/practice.

What a dishonest, disingenuous article. Voting for a someone other than Harrison does not mean that anyone else will do. I see no reason why anyone who voted for Ball should vote for Biermann. If you voted for someone to the right of Harrison first, why would you vote left now?

✅ LDS members do not attack other religions. ✅ Our leaders do not disparage other faiths. ✅We do not mock rituals or clothing held sacred by other faiths. ✅ We do not gatekeep eternal salvation. ✅ We do not usurp the power of Christ in declaring who He will or will not save. ✅ What we do do, however, is invite everyone to bring all the good they have and see if we can add to it. It is upon each individual to work out his own salvation, not to tell others they have none. “By their fruits ye shall know them.” #LDS
Ryker@RykerJackson97

The strangest thing about all this discourse is that I’m realizing a lot of Christians seem to think we hate or have an unfavorable opinion of them, but that just isn’t true. In fact, we don’t view any religion negatively, even though we are the most negatively viewed religion.

@ferrell_travis @boomerslayer64 @Brady_Gray “No, stop changing the subject to the other stuff we made up to justify our cult” 😂 it’s pretty easy not to contradict yourself when you just create a whole new set of scriptures to justify your religion

You are changing the subject. Nevertheless, show me where in LDS scripture it says Jesus is a brother of satan or that God was once a man. Same standard you are asking of me. As for Kolob, the name of a star near God’s dwelling place is hardly some kind of contradiction unless the Bible gives a different name for the same thing.

This is a red herring. No one was questioning whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ. Even demons believe Jesus is the Son of God and know who He is (James 2:19). The question is whether LDS doctrine teaches the same Jesus and the same gospel revealed in Scripture. The answer is no.
Mike Lee@BasedMikeLee

Read the Book of Mormon. Cover to cover. Pray about it, asking sincerely to know whether it’s true (the final chapter provides specific guidance on this point). Then tell me whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ. Will you accept that challenge?

@NotSpudly @michaelj7195 We worship ONE God the Father, through his Son, by the power of the Holy Ghost. All things ultimately proceed from the father and all worship is ultimately directed towards him. They are 3 distinct persons and all power and authority is allocated from the Father to the Son.

@NotSpudly @michaelj7195 No. You just don’t understand what Mormons actually believe about God. Very few people actually do. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. They form a triune Godhead which is God. God can refer to any of them distinctly or to them collectively as a Godhead.
