@DennisKalma @TheRealKeean If you want to reduce support for independence then keep on with this position. There are lots of people with relatives who are permanent residents, whom they support fully, and who have cut all ties with their former home country and only have ties to Alberta.

We did handle that in the Value of Freedom (APP) in that we suggested that all temporary workers and Permanent Residents be required to revalidate under the proposed point system (which awards points for language, skills, education, work, health and so forth). If they requalify and have no conviction attracting a jail sentence, then the PR would be maintained. Failing that, they'd be given (at their option) a one way ticket to Ottawa or the nation of their choosing.

Yet another example of just how great Canada's fReE HeAlThCaRe is - my cousin was admitted to the hospital with heart palpitations (late 30's, female), they observed her for a short time and then said she was fine and sent her home. My aunt found her passed away this morning. RIP, Jocelyn.
