@EFF This makes no sense. It was easy as a pro-Trump free speech person to still mostly like EFF. This is destroying what was a pretty good bi-partisan value based posture for some short lived weak viral post about leaving X.

When you go online, your rights should go with you. X is no longer where the fight is happening. EFF takes on big fights, and we win by putting our time, skills, and members’ support where they will have the most impact. Right now, that means Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and eff.org. We hope you follow us there and keep supporting the work we do. eff.org/deeplinks/2026… (5/5)

After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵(1/5)

@chriscollins462 @archer_rs @_DundeePerfect_ Though as an aside, blaming Brexit for Britain not being part of Schengen doesn't hold up. Britain wasn't in Schengen to start with. As someone who supported Brexit, I also support joining Schengen. Countries like Switzerland are part of Schengen despite not being EU members.

@chriscollins462 @archer_rs @_DundeePerfect_ A.Brown said that you can travel between member states such as from France to Germany without undergoing border checks. That's true for Brits too. We need one brief check to get into Schengen, and then we're free to go. it's a narrow point, but RS Archer seemed to not know.

@GrantCardone @coinbase Coinbase Commerce shut down today. You probably used Coinbase Commerce years ago and still had a balance. Their position was that if you didn't withdraw it by March 31 2026 then it would be forever lost, though it might be different because you seemingly use Coinbase Prime.

@augustl @_ashleypeacock This is false Consistently doing 100pb/mo with 330M MAU - enterprise sales reps try to upsell but you can just say no Can confidently say there is no point that CF will force you to bump tiers They will de-prioriotise your traffic if you saturate a PoP though

the only scary thing I've heard about cloudflare is that apparently heavy users are forced on to an enterprise plan. Is that "above paid tier" documented somehow? Perhaps it's just internet FUD too. Using Cloudflare for images so guess I'm not that worried

The Cloudflare free tier isn't going anywhere, as it provides them a lot of value: - Lowers Cloudflare’s Bandwidth Costs - Huge threat intelligence from free sites - Real-world QA by releasing to the free plan first - Free plan makes efficient use of spare capacity - Great incubator for the enterprise plan Don't believe me? You can read it from the horse's mouth: blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflares-co…

@GergelyOrosz Someone should do a TS port of the Python port.

This is either brilliant or scary: Anthropic accidentally leaked the TS source code of Claude Code (which is closed source). Repos sharing the source are taken down with DMCA. BUT this repo rewrote the code using Python, and so it violates no copyright & cannot be taken down!

@levelsio Agree that Stripe's approach to this is poor. There were rumours of Stripe looking to acquire PayPal. That would change everything overnight.

All I hear from Stripe is stablecoin this that Very interesting but as a business I don't care I just want a payment card I can use to pay my server bills WITH the money from my customers that's inside Stripe Why do I have to take it out of Stripe as a payout at all? Why does it need to go to Wise who takes a cut and then I pay Hetzner for my server bill? Why not Stripe balance to Hetzner bill? And if you build that out long enough you can remove the expensive intermediary of payment cards (Visa/MC) too
@levelsio@levelsio

Like the logical step is for @Stripe to be not just a payment service but an actual fintech I have no idea why they're not doing that It makes logical sense my business bank account (Wise) is ALSO the place I accept payments from my startup's customers with a checkout page integrated into my site (Stripe) Stripe isn't offering cards or bank accounts (yes they keep announcing it but where is my Stripe card or bank account then) Wise isn't offering proper checkout pages for my customers Others like Airwallex are starting to offer both

@Sadie7279458319 @kathrynw5 Agree; people get on the train when it's empty and don't look around at every stop to see whether there's empty seats left. Just ask.

@kathrynw5 was there a particular reason you couldn't just ask politely? most people only put their bags there to sit down and are quite happy to move once you ask. if you touched my stuff you'd be getting a sharp slap around the face :)

I finally did it, I picked up the backpack of someone taking up two seats on a standing room only train, handed it to them and said “you can hold this so someone can sit, thank you.” A woman immediately sat. I will absolutely keep doing this

Jesus right back—those repeating "one" domains are a total DNS mindfuck. one.one (exactly two) is One.com A/S's short branded domain (Danish registrar/host that also runs the .one TLD). It redirects to their main site for domains, hosting, etc. one.one.one.one (four) is Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 DNS/WARP page—they control it via delegation under .one. Totally separate zones. What exactly tripped you up?

No, one.one.one.one is *not* a subdomain of one.com (totally separate TLDs: .one vs .com). Here's how it works: - one.com A/S owns the .one TLD registry *and* the SLD one.one. - They delegated the subzone "one.one.one" to Cloudflare (by adding NS records for it in the one.one zone). - Cloudflare now fully controls that zone, including the host one.one.one.one (their 1.1.1.1 branding). Its authoritative NS are Cloudflare's (dorthy.ns.cloudflare.com, dns.cloudflare.com etc.)—*not* one.com's. Check with `dig NS one.one.one.one` to see. Delegation magic!

🚨 UPDATE: Manchester Council hit back at claims of illegal family voting in Gorton and Denton "Polling station staff are trained to look out for any evidence of undue influence on voters. No such issues have been reported today. "If Democracy Volunteers were so concerned about alleged issues they could and should have raised them with us during polling hours so that immediate action could be taken. We have operated a central by-election hub which was has been rapidly responding to reported issues during the day, in liaison with the police - who had a presence at every polling station - where necessary. "It is extremely disappointing that Democracy Volunteers have waited until after polls have closed to make such claims"
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: International election observers recorded 32 cases of illegal family voting in the same polling booth across 15 polling stations in Gorton and Denton "[These are] the highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10 year history of observing elections in the UK"

@teamstar80 @Sgt_Howie @Rod__Mason @graemeburton If a British citizen is at or around the 90/180 Schengen day limit and attempts to visit Gibraltar, they will be refused by Spain. Despite not intending to leave British territory. So yes, they will be denied entry to a British territory by Spain.

@marclou They bumped corp tax from 12.5% to 15% with zero warning. Passed on Dec 22nd 2025, to go into effect on Jan 1st 2026. Any country willing to pull that shit should be treated with extreme caution.

@vivekgirotra @namecheapceo123 @snigdhasur @Namecheap A domain registrar cannot block a domain in a specific country, provided you aren't using their name servers (and you generally don't) The only options are to not take it down, or take it down globally.

@namecheapceo123 @snigdhasur @Namecheap But if namecheap was directed to block the domain name only in India, why was the entire website taken down? Agree that namecheap shouldn’t have been a party in this lawsuit in the first case.
