Your chart includes hybrids. Which still rely on 'fossil fuel fragility.' Using Mexico as an example, last year(2025) BEVs only accounted for roughly 1.6% of new car sales. Additionally, passenger car EVs do not include all the heavy equipment, planes, boats, and military vehicles that are still gas powered. Hate to break it to you, but it is going to be at least a couple decades before BEVs become dominant.

Regardless of what happens in Europe and the U.S., the world is moving to EVs. There is nothing that western automakers can do to reverse this trend, and geopolitical risk in oil will only accelerate it. Either get good at EVs, or wither away.

@JessePeltan Nah, being FORCED into EVs. The power generation, storage medium, and charging times are nowhere near the levels needed. 95% of the world will still use fossil fuels and it has stayed pretty consistent.

I understand that new neighborhoods will not be mature enough to have wonderful canopy trees, duh. But why are they (basically) not planting any trees at all? I think I see four or five baby trees? A new neighborhood rarely looks good, but ones like this will NEVER look good.

@sircalebhammer Tree's are expensive and require a lot of maintenance. That said, I prefer them as they a) oxygenate, b) absorb sound, and c) just add natural air conditioning if done right.

Judge Raquel West was seen torching 18-year-old Caden James Fontenette before handing out the sentence. "There was a time some years ago that there really wasn't even a question... State's attorneys were recommending youthful offenders probation. Let's give everybody an opportunity..." West said. "You don't have a good likelihood of being successful if I were to put you on probation... I'm going to sentence you to a term of 25 years." Fontenette pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery for a 2025 incident where he and two others robbed a convenience store at gunpoint. The suspects were caught on camera assaulting the store clerk. Fontenette will likely be in his 40s when he is released from prison.

@peterrhague To be fair, the Shuttle was 40 year old tech when it was retired. They had been developing it since the late 60's with the first official order coming in 72. That's like comparing a Ferrari Testa Rosa to an SF90.

They have put over 10,000 commercial satellites into orbit. Falcon 9 now flies more missions each year than the ostensibly reusable Shuttle did in 30. They are the first to recover both stages of a rocket from orbit. Yes, they are obviously revolutionary, don’t be salty.
