If you have 500–1,000+ subs but can’t hit watch hours, you don’t have a sub problem, you have a retention problem. I’m at 157 subs and passed 4,800+ hours by focusing on live streams & keeping people watching (22 min avg). 20 viewers × 22 minutes = 7+ hours per session, (just some basic numbers.)

@Wealth_Counter @YouTubeCreators It all comes down to topic. I define it as “make videos your audience is already watching.” Then it’s value. Give them something they want from that topic but are not getting from existing creators. It takes research but when it hits, it runs for years.

The direction is right. YouTube slowly lowering barriers means the monetization conversation is finally moving toward creators instead of away from them but 500 subscribers sounds exciting until you hit the 3000 watch hours wall. AS WE ALL KNOW that 500 subscribers is the easy part, 3000 watch hours is where 90% of small creators LIKE US are actually stuck and this announcement does nothing for all of us. So thank you but no thanks.

@KodeationsTV @nuttylmao Honestly I hate this half in half out policies on multi-streaming. Either allow it freely or make everyone exclusive to the platform. This In between stuff makes it so hard to multi stream that it’s just not worth it anymore.

Chats combined = bad Chats separate (but on still screen) = good This is a stupid rule and I will continue to bully Twitch until they change it. Idgaf what reason Dan Clancy gives. There's simply no good reason to have a rule against this.

@ShizzyHollywood gotcha - i guess that makes sense - I generally watch larger streamers and the chat is moving so fast that there isn't anyway I'd catch that in a vod but I can see that for a smaller streamer being useful.
