And since you lots love to talk about context, let me explain the context of “no compulsion” for you. It came very early, in chapter 2, when Muhammad had no power and very few followers. As Islam gained strength, the tone changed. If you study our Quran very well and honestly, you’ll see that later verses become increasingly violent and expansionist. I know this truth is hard to swallow, but I’ll give you time.

Nawa o. Guy, I thought you carry yourself as one of the smart Muslims. Mummification of pharaohs is a well-known Egyptian practice that existed long before the Quran was written. It was not a hidden or divine secret that the Quran suddenly revealed. People of that time and centuries before already knew Egyptians preserved the bodies of their kings. They did not hide it. The tombs were there. The rituals were known. In fact, Greeks like Herodotus wrote detailed accounts of Egyptian mummification around 450 BCE, more than 1,000 years before Islam. So this was already documented history, not mysterious knowledge. And let’s be clear, it was humans who preserved those bodies using established techniques, not spirits or angels. So what exactly is the miracle here? Saying a body would be preserved when a civilisation was already famous for preserving bodies is not divine foresight. It is basic history. Try harder.
