This thread is quite something. NHS England climbing down in real time. Their defence is essentially: "we didn't know we weren't doing it properly - everyone else was doing it wrong too". Not the strongest hand to take to a tribunal. These people are supposed to have brains.

The United Kingdom is in a sinister, censorious state. I was invited to an interview with the police for the first time in 2017 for saying it’s wrong to castrate a 16 year old. Over the last few years, I’ve had a visit from the police for being “untoward about paedophiles”, been arrested for organising an outdoor political gathering during lockdown, and made a couple more trips to the police station for my speech. My primary role in life is that of a mother; I see this country through the lens of what we leave for our children. Yesterday, whilst in a taxi after listening to the extraordinary Noa Argamani speak, I saw an email from my son’s college. (In the UK, college/sixth form is compulsory for 16–18-year-olds.) The email was a sinister and viciously authoritarian punishment for wrongthink and speech. Had my son said women have penises and should be able to share rape crisis centres with other women, he would have been fine. He would not have been accused of being ideologically abhorrent (in writing) and given a permanent record to take with him into university or an apprenticeship. We, the adults, have created this environment for our children, and it is incumbent upon us to fight to stop it. These battles are high risk for our children; speaking freely can cost them friendships and opportunities. You must ensure your child is not suffering the harms of our societal neglect. There will be consequences for adults who think they can bully my son. Maybe they haven’t heard, but, especially when it comes to my children … I never lose.

Don’t gaslight. In 2018 she withdrew from an uni of Oxford talk after protests, and Hull reviewed naming a lecture theatre after her. In 2020 she said the BBC had restricted her coverage. Fantastic to be given the opportunity to speak to a cross party group of parliamentarians & other concerned citizens today at a roundtable organised by @womenpolicyctr & chaired by @SarahForRuncorn & then @SuellaBraverman. Alarming research was shared by @ProtectTeach & @NoSecretLessons on the prevalence of inappropriate #RSE lessons that breach both standard #safeguarding practices & sections 406 & 407 of the 1996 Education Act (prohibits partisan politics being promoted in schools). Also confirmed what we already knew - that in many schools where leadership & management DO understand safeguarding & other legal obligations these dangerous & damaging materials are not being used. However there are still a significant number of schools where children are being indoctrinated, which is not only detrimental to the individual children but society as a whole. In more positive news there were lots of constructive policy suggestions for how children can be better protected in future & how those that have harmed them can be held to account. We hope this is the start of cross party consensus on the importance of prioritising child welfare, investigating what has gone wrong and holding those who have failed children to account. #RestoreSafeguarding #Edutwitter #WomenEd

Interesting how some women who valiantly fought gender wars now using same tropes beloved of transactivists to defend decriminalisation of late term abortion. - AS IF there will be thousands of sinister men who want to predate in changing rooms/ women lining up to get rid of their babies! We aren't living in the 18th Century. Every possible form of contraception was already available. How can it be ok to prefer to try and get rid of a later term baby - especially when you have to go through labour either way - rather than deliver it for adoption?). Well if you continue to bastardize women’s language, the only language we have to advocate for ourselves as a sex class legally and politically is, then you’re probably going to continue to get pushback from women. I asked Adam - a former Indy journalist- why he supported girls being punched by boys in a boxing club. After a rather protracted and amusing (well, to me anyway) exchange, this was the best he could come up with.

This is insane. 25-year-old men should never be allowed to box with teenage girls and to withdraw a course for girls after a mother complains about that very basic lack of safeguarding shows how badly gender ideology has rotted some charity sector brains.
