@sceeneey @AMuyjs @justalexoki And our greatest saint is the woman who gave birth to God Incarnate and who was born without sin (see Immaculate Conception). Not to mention that we venerate her for her perfect faith and obedience to God. Anne, you have no idea what you are talking about

@AMuyjs @justalexoki Source: history. Women barred from leadership, education, property rights, bodily autonomy, and treated as inferior in practice for centuries. You don’t need a single sentence on a plaque to see the doctrine in action..

@TheNarrowGate37 @JmyLss @Ken47188750 You cite Siecienski while seemingly supporting a Romanides view of the East-West Schism that he rejects. You are treating Augustine as a corrupter of the faith while your church commemorates him as a saint and an EC names him as a holy father. You can’t hold both positions.

@TheNarrowGate37 @JmyLss @Ken47188750 Siecieski endorses St. Maximus’s framework for understanding the Filioque. St. Maximus’s Letter to the Marinus defends the Latin use of the Filioque when properly understood. The Father alone is the cause, and the Latins do not claim otherwise.

@TheNarrowGate37 @JmyLss @Ken47188750 @TheNarrowGate37 Additionally, your church was in communion with the West when Augustinian theology was the West’s position. So either you have to reject the first-millennium Western Church or accept that Augustinian theology was part of the first millennium consensus

@TheNarrowGate37 @JmyLss @Ken47188750 Intellectual humility is a virtue for theologians. He was familiar with the Greek tradition. He read translations of the Greeks, which is Eastern Fathers did in reverse, so I hope you see that is weak argument. He also was taught by Ambrose who was extremely familiar with Greek

@timotheeology @KreuzritterAD Joe asked that these students ask questions at the mic or come talk to him during the breaks. That seems to show a willingness to engage which in my opinion is good. Better than a lot of people who just ignore it

I warned you about the unfathomably gay feminist-Judaizing by Heschmeyer and lots of you dummies swore to me how based he was 🤦‍♂️ Catholic Answers is 100% committed to Judaizing and feminism
Catholics United Against The Jews@CathsAgainstJws

Joe Heschmeyer talks with Gideon Lazar and calls the students at Benedictine College “groyperish,” and, as a result, they are weirdos and heretics. He says the students putting up the flyers should have challenged them openly and that hiding behind anonymity makes them cowards. Hey @ShamelessPopery, maybe instead of attacking college students, you should try having a good faith discussion with @EMichaelJones1 about the Jewish question from a Catholic perspective, considering he’s the main intellectual figure responsible for reviving discussion of the topic.

@TheNarrowGate37 @JmyLss @Ken47188750 You are forced to reject St Augustine’s clear statements about the Trinity which demonstrates you are not the “unchanging first century church.” We actully can synthesize the Cappadocian Fathers. Thanks for trying though. Your orthobro/20th century focus on Palmas is cope

@JmyLss @Ken47188750 Actually he also disconnected Catholicism from the Fathers who actually reconciled Greek Philosophy before him. This is why Aquinas agrees with Muslim theologians instead of St John of Damascus.

@danforthmedia @lporiginalg Christ sacrificed himself to take away the sins of you and me. The babies being slaughtered daily are not doing that. You are comparing things that are not the same. Why do you think it is bad for the government to incentivize moral behavior by giving temporal punishment?

@KHammerness @lporiginalg We agree we should improve society. We do that by modeling morality and building social structures that support the vulnerable by making it viable to choose life. How easy it would have been for Christ to choose coercion. He did not.

@danforthmedia @lporiginalg Rendering unto Ceasar is about giving allegiance to the nation/empire despite it being oppressive. That does NOT we should not work to make society better and less oppressive If we as Catholics can shape society to be more like the Kingdom of Heaven, we should do so

@lporiginalg I'm not "leftist". I'm Catholic who opposes abortion. I listen carefully to Christ's teachings, especially when he said, "Render unto Ceasar..." It is not on me if people can't hold two concepts at the same time. Note the lack of response to what I *actually said.* Muting. ✌️

@danforthmedia @TheEleuedist @lporiginalg Which society would Jesus prefer? The society that prevents the murder of innocents or the one that glorifies murder? Stop using Jesus's name to defend murder.

@TheEleuedist @lporiginalg Is that why Jesus tried to take over Rome? Why he spoke out against Ceasar and drafted civil laws? Why he let the Pharisees stone the adultress? Oh, right. He didn't. Not even when they planned to execute him. Jesus is extraordinarily consistent in his teachings, actually.

Ignatius of Antioch, writing in 107 AD as he journeyed to face wild beasts, declared the Eucharist to be "the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ." Think about what that means. This man was not debating theology from a comfortable study. He was being escorted to Rome to be torn apart in the arena. Every letter he wrote on that journey was a final testament. His words carried the weight of a man with nothing left to protect except the truth. And what did he choose to defend with his dying breath? That the Eucharist is Christ's real flesh. Not a symbol. Not a memorial. Flesh. In his letter to the Smyrnaeans, he identified those who rejected the Eucharist as Christ's true body as heretics. They "abstain from the Eucharist," he wrote, because they "do not confess that it is the flesh of our Savior." Notice the structure of that sentence. The denial of Real Presence was the heresy. The memorialist position was what Ignatius condemned. A man marching toward lions has exactly zero incentive to elaborate on a symbolic meal. You do not die for a metaphor. You do not call denial of a metaphor heresy. Ignatius was a disciple of the apostles. He knew what they taught. And what they taught, he carried to his death. The Real Presence is not a medieval invention. It was the faith that men were willing to die for before the ink on the New Testament was dry. What does it tell you that the earliest post-apostolic voice we have sounds exactly like a Catholic?

No, @michaeljknowles, Trump is alienating Catholics all by himself. There is no “op” beyond his own deranged rhetoric and messianic delusions.
