@RossMurrayWill1 @JamesThrot Acid rain did happen; we got together globally to reduce sulfur emissions in order to stop that, and even then it still affects some places, where e.g. lakes need to be frequently limed to avoid dieoff. @e_philalethes @SeattleWXGuy terrestrial volcanoes have a net cooling effect over time as gas and ash from larger particles help refract radiation. this was a sub sea volcano that put trillions of gallons of water not ash into the atmosphere, causing a much different effect, 1.5C of warming since 2022.
