I sat through the most unconventional Elders Quorum meeting of my life today. It was AWESOME! Today was the first EQ meeting of our brand new ward in Tennessee. We met in the high council room, sitting face-to-face in a circle around the large conference table. No way you were gonna zone out on your phone there! To start the meeting, we stood and sang "Rise up, O Men of God." That alone was powerful. Many of us hadn't sung a men’s hymn like that since the last General Conference Priesthood session. Then we were invited to huddle shoulder to shoulder-- like a football team-- to bow our heads and pray specifically for one another and the brotherhood we were forming. We went around the room and each brother shared a bit about himself, including one way he saw the Lord's hand during the past week, and one way he planned to sacrifice for his God and his family during the upcoming week. The atmosphere loosened quickly. Testimonies grew personal as men discussed trials, admitted to slipping in their scripture study, and shared miraculous ways God showed up in their lives. Then the EQ Presidency member leading the meeting shared the "lesson." He choked up a bit and couldn't explain why. That's okay. 😉 He told us every meeting would follow this format: join in a mighty song of Zion, prayer shoulder to shoulder, and "speak one with another concerning the welfare of our souls." And every member should feel free to ask for a priesthood blessing from his brothers in the quorum. One good brother raised his hand and asked for a blessing for the circumstances going on in his life. When volunteers were asked to form the circle, many hands went up-- even brothers who didn't know him. There were snacks, too. Chips, candy bars, even protein bars for the gym bros. Then another football huddle closing prayer. Our first quorum activity is already scheduled. We're meeting at a brother's house to grill chicken. Each member is bringing a side and his favorite rub or marinade (drop your best recipe in the comments). I listened to the quorum members talking in the hallway after the meeting. The consensus: "That was the best quorum meeting I've ever had. For the first time in my adult life, I'm actually excited about Elders Quorum!" I've heard of wards who've done this format from @LeadingSaints, @CwicShow, and others, but I'd never actually seen it before. It was really cool to be a part of. I'm pumped to see where this will lead for our brand new Elders Quorum brotherhood! PS: the EQ Presidency member who ran this first meeting is here on X, too. @ShaunTagatauli. Give him a follow. He's good people.

The best part of today’s stake conference wasn’t the dividing of the stake. It wasn’t the beautiful three-part harmony musical number. It wasn’t even the powerful, “lively” testimonies of the recent converts I mentioned last night. It was at the end when Elder Wu paused his talk, and in his halting English, directed his comments at the Primary children: “I want to share some thoughts with you, children. But I cannot say them well in English. So I’m going to sing a Primary song to you in the only language that I know it: Spanish. I pray the Spirit will carry the message into your heart.” He then proceeded to sing, completely a cappella, the first verse of “I’m Trying to Be Like Jesus” in Spanish. The Spirit flooded the room in an instant. Everyone was antsy after two straight hours, but suddenly you could hear a pin drop as this General Authority bore a powerful, simple testimony with music. By the end of the song, many were singing along with him. He choked up and couldn’t finish. It was a privilege to be there.

People that won’t accept callings should not be asked to speak in sacrament meeting. I think I might have sat through the worst mockery of the church from “members” speaking at the pulpit that I’ve ever seen.

I was laid off a couple of months ago. I start a new job on Monday. In the meantime, I’ve been working on a project that I hope my LDS friends will appreciate. I’m in the final stretch and will release it in a few days.

4 years ago I tried to make a deepfake video to warn people about the dangers. It would require a world class team, broadcast equipment, days of training. Today I released a new video. I used 2x $20 subscriptions with 2 days of work, did it myself. Absolutely terrifying.

I totally feel this. I think the skillset of knowing generally what’s going on under the hood even though you’re not reading the code still matters. Software design matters and knowing how to direct the AI to build things in certain way for a specific reason is a valuable skill.

@KaranVaidya6 44k lines in 12 days is impressive but the real test is month 3 when someone has to add a feature the original agent never anticipated — curious what your change failure rate looks like now that humans are back in the loop.

I’m putting together an X list of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (@Ch_JesusChrist) I know many already have their own lists, and this idea has probably been done more times than anyone can count. What I’m committing to here is keeping this one active, curated, and used with intention. Something that actually serves people. This is opt-in only. I won’t add anyone unless they explicitly want to be included. The goal is simple: visibility, community, and connection for those who are comfortable being openly identified with their faith here. If you’re a member and want to be added, let me know. If not, no pressure at all. #LatterDaySaints #FaithOnX

@KamalaHarris Our country actually lost an estimated $9 Billion dollars to Tim Walz and his fraudsters… So it’s actually not stronger it’s weaker.

The Book of Mormon is the keystone of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The atonement of Jesus Christ, which The Book of Mormon testifies of repeatedly, is the keystone of Christianity. Without the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and his subsequent resurrection on the third day, Christianity would be meaningless.
