@ChadMoran @Tslachan Think it depends on use case and what you value ADAS at. There are some GM EVs that are a heck of a value too and are really nice (assuming you’re ok with CarPlay also.) Also leases are competitive

@blast_oids It would have taken 0.63g of stopping power. You can see how passing a 15 MPH sign while doing 58 would be startling and someone inexperienced with FSD may be inclined to disengage?

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?

While I've been sick this week I've been running Claude and OpenAI side by side. The Codex desktop up is world-class. The diff viewer, inline comments, etc. So good. Both GPT-5.4 and Codex 5.3 continue to be mid. I'm gettin much better results consistently with Claude Code.

Not sure why FSD 14.2.2.5 came to a complete stop in this construction zone—possibly reacting to the mobile flashing yellow light? That said, it did recognize and respond appropriately to the construction worker’s hand signal to proceed.

I have no desire to debate about Tesla or FSD anymore. I don’t give a shit. The truth is going to be what it is regardless of what anyone argues about today. It’s amazing, and if you disagree you either haven’t used it or you’re a big dumb idiot and I don’t care about you.

The Tesla service experience is genuinely unmatched. Dropping off your car and instantly hopping into a loaner with your cloud profile already synced (seat position, saved locations, music) is something no other automaker is doing today. Plus, from the parking spot in the back of the lot, I literally pressed a button and the car drove me home. I try not to be a total Tesla fanboy, but days like this make you appreciate how good the ownership experience actually is.

@OfficialGuySam @JCChristopher Same spot, cameras have different focal length so I had trouble getting them exact but I used the 15 MPH sign as reference. CT was doing 58 MPH, (3 or Y, can't tell) is doing 47 MPH. That's a huge difference for a vehicle that weighs over 2,000 lbs more.

In Chris' drives, he had the same speed at the same spot (about 57 mph at the beginning of the fox video) and yet fsd navigated the rest of the turn smoothly twice. Why you insisted that 57 mph at that moment was dangerous? What do you call someone who could not see the fact that the woman manually drove the car to the wall while fsd was able to smoothly make that turn starting with the same speed at the same spot?

Got it. I don't think anyone should embellish what FSD can / can't do. It sets a poor precedence of what people should expect. FSD keeps getting better but you gotta monitor it. Pierre definitely should not have posted this, but it likely will not be long until he can. Do you agree?
