Obi to Tinubu: Borrowing for consumption not only leprosy — it’s cancer
Peter Obi has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his recent comments defending government borrowing, warning that loans used for consumption could harm the country’s future.
Tinubu had said on Wednesday during a meeting with Plateau leaders at the State House that his administration would continue to borrow when necessary.
“If we have to borrow, we borrow. Borrowing is not leprosy, we just have to work hard to be able to pay for it,” the president said.
Reacting in a statement on Thursday, @PeterObi disagreed with the president’s position, arguing that borrowing becomes dangerous when it is not tied to productive investments.

The Transformative Power of Sport
Sports have the unique power to forge identity and legacy. Iconic figures like Pelé and Plato - originally named Edson Arantes do Nascimento and Aristocles - carried names earned through athletic prowess rather than birth. This reveals a profound truth: sports are not merely entertainment; they are a crucible for character and excellence.
With this in mind, I arrived early in Ibadan today and observed the ongoing clean-up exercise. I parked beside the Lekan Salami Stadium, where groups of young people were actively engaged in basketball, lawn tennis, handball, and judo.
It was uplifting to witness their discipline and energy. Such scenes reflect progress and offer a powerful glimpse into the immense potential of our youth.
I made it a point to stop and encourage them because sports are more than just a game - they are a lifeline as well as a critical sector that deserves greater investment and support. For these young men, sports serve as a powerful engine for social mobility and personal reinvention. By instilling relentless discipline and teamwork, the field becomes a space where they can transcend their circumstances, sharpen their resolve, and transform their raw potential into a lasting legacy of excellence.
A new Nigeria is Possible. -PO

TINUBU'S MAN AT THE UN: Nigeria's seat at the world's most important table — handed to a serial business arsonist with criminal tax charges pending in Federal High Court
Senator Jimoh Ibrahim presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres on April 20. He is now the face of 220 million Nigerians at the United Nations.
Look at the wreckage he carries with him.
▪️ NICON Airways. Acquired. Collapsed. Roughly 300 workers left without wages from May 2007. The National Industrial Court awarded them ₦1.5 billion in 2013. Ibrahim appealed. The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal in 2017. As of 2024, ex-staff say ₦808.7 million in salary arrears remains unpaid — plus ₦8.1 million in pension contributions deducted from workers' paychecks and never remitted. Stolen. From their own people.
▪️ Air Nigeria. Taken over 2010. Grounded by 2012. The National Assembly's Joint Committee on Aviation said on the record that Ibrahim diverted a ₦35.5 billion government intervention loan into his personal company. The Senate ordered the CBN Governor to recover the funds. Never enforced.
▪️ NICON Insurance. Acquired. Gutted. From national market dominance to less than 1% of its pre-privatization client base. FIRS sealed the offices in 2016 over ₦182.7 million in unremitted taxes. Then filed a 10-count criminal charge against Ibrahim personally — for ₦4.86 billion in unpaid taxes and producing forged Tax Clearance Certificates. That charge sits in Federal High Court Abuja today. The man Tinubu just credentialed at the UN is a sitting criminal defendant.
▪️ AMCON. November 2020, the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria seized 12 named properties from Ibrahim over a ₦69.4 billion debt. AMCON called him "recalcitrant and unenthusiastic."
▪️ AerSale Inc. sued him in U.S. District Court in New York for more than $7.68 million on aircraft leases he personally guaranteed. Yes — that New York. Where he now lives with diplomatic immunity.
▪️ Newswatch magazine. The crown jewel of Nigerian investigative journalism. Founded by Dele Giwa, Ray Ekpu, Dan Agbese, and Yakubu Mohammed. Giwa was murdered by mail bomb in 1986 for the work. The other three kept it alive for 25 more years. In May 2011, Ibrahim signed a Share Purchase Agreement for 51% of Newswatch — ₦510 million owed by close of business that day. He never paid a naira. He installed himself as chairman, evicted the founders, sued the men he had displaced, shut the magazine down in 2012, and registered shell companies to keep the name alive after a court ordered him to stop. Justice Ibrahim Buba ruled his actions "unjust, unfair, and unlawful" and issued a perpetual injunction.
Dan Agbese died in November 2025. Yakubu Mohammed died in January 2026 — still in court, still fighting for what was stolen from him. Ray Ekpu is the last man standing.
They died fighting Jimoh Ibrahim. And now he sits in the chair at the UN.
Why does this matter beyond Nigeria's shame?
Because the United Nations is where the genocide story will be fought. Because Ibrahim is now Tinubu's voice on Security Council questions while Trump's CPC framework moves through Congress. Because every Foreign Service officer and congressional staffer in New York will be reading Olumhense and Billionaires.Africa within a week.
When international press ask hard questions about the slaughter of Christians, the man at the microphone will be one who stole pension money from his own workers and watched the founders of Nigerian journalism die in courtrooms trying to get back what he took.
You don't send Jimoh Ibrahim to the UN to do diplomacy. You send him to absorb scrutiny that would otherwise stick to Aso Rock. He is a heat shield. A man this radioactive is useful precisely because the noise around him drowns out the signal from Borno, Plateau, and Benue.
Look at the pattern Tinubu just exported:
Beijing — Lt. Gen. Dambazau. Caliphate general. Buhari's interior man during the Sahel jihadi flood. Publicly accused of profiting from Boko Haram. Never sued his accusers. Never investigated.
Mexico — Reno Omokri. Shambassador. Notorious political prostitute who flips his loyalty and his advocacy to the highest bidder. He once called Tinubu a drug lord. Today he calls him "Christ-like." He was once one of the loudest voices raising the alarm on the Nigerian Christian genocide. Today he calls it a hoax. The price was the title.
Berlin — Femi Fani-Kayode. Same mold. Different country. A man who has worn every jersey in Nigerian politics and rented out his pen to whoever was buying that week.
New York / UN — Jimoh Ibrahim. The man Sonala Olumhense, dean of Nigerian columnists, calls "an insult in real time."
This is not a diplomatic corps. This is a regime exporting its most useful liars at the precise moment Trump is asking who is accountable for the slaughter.
Honest governments send their best people to the UN.
Tinubu sent the man whose victims are still dying in court.
That tells you everything.

TROOPS DOMINATE OPERATIONAL LANDSCAPE, RECORD SIGNIFICANT SUCCESS AGAINST ECONOMIC SABOTEURS
Troops of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, working closely with other security agencies, have continued to dominate the Niger Delta Region (NDR) operational landscape, recording significant operational successes. The operations, conducted from 1–26 April 2026 across the region, led to the arrest of nine suspected oil thieves, the deactivation of ten illegal refining sites, and the confiscation of over 130,000 litres of stolen crude oil, as well as over 26,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO). Several equipment used for oil theft were also destroyed. The confiscated products are worth over Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (₦250,000,000.00).
In Rivers State, several operations were conducted in the creeks, rivulets, and hinterland. Accordingly, in a swift response to credible intelligence, troops intercepted an abandoned truck with registration number KMC 310 ZV Kano at Ukpeye Community, along the East-West Road in Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA). The truck was discovered to have been loaded with 45,000 litres of stolen products. Similarly, at Orashi National Forest in Ahoada West LGA, a massive reservoir filled with over 35,000 litres of stolen crude oil was uncovered.
Additionally, another reservoir containing over 26,000 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) was uncovered, with several galvanized pipes used for siphoning the products destroyed. At Ebocha, Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, troops confiscated 266 sacks filled with 17,760 litres of stolen products. Relatedly, at Abessa Forest, also in Ahoada West LGA, troops discovered four drum ovens and 50 sacks containing over 3,000 litres of crude oil, while two identified waste pits were destroyed. Around Okolomade in Abua/Odual LGA, troops discovered 30 sacks containing over 1,500 litres of stolen crude oil.
In Delta State, around Obazogbe Community in Ethiope LGA, troops uncovered a tapping point with a dugout storage pit located 500 metres away, filled with over 2,700 litres of stolen products. In Akwa Ibom State, troops uncovered 45 bags containing a 1,350-litre stockpile of illegally refined AGO at Ikot Ekpene LGA. The suspected oil thieves abandoned the stolen products and fled the area. Troops have also effectively dominated Bayelsa State, denying oil thieves freedom of action.
Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, has commended the troops for their resilience. He further charged them to sustain the operational tempo against economic saboteurs and associated crimes across the Niger Delta Region.

Claims by Peter Obi, that he ran a very lean administration and consequently left billions for his successor, Willie Obiano have been faulted by one of the aides of the ex-governor, Benji Obi, saying his former boss was far from the truth.
Benji Obi is the former Special Assistant on inter-party Affairs to Peter Obi . He spoke during a telephone chat with journalists in Abuja and he queried his former boss on the use of public funds for private functions.
His points:
* Obi built the first expensive Helipad at the Government House in Anambra for his personal use.
* Peter Obi used helicopters to travel often while he was the governor, and he usually travelled alone or with one trusted aide. It was not a secret within the administrative circles in Awka. When he went to the burial of his wife’s sister, he flew in a helicopter. He took off from the Government House.
* Peter Obi increased the money for his private kitchen at the Government House to N2million monthly and increased the feeding for the Police officers attached to him to N7million monthly. The alleged increase never translated to increased feeding, as the money disappears.
* He alleged that his former boss lied when he said he stopped the buffet-styled dinner being served at the Government House.
“What he did was to sack all the previous cooks and butlers and employed over 30 cooks/butlers/stewards from Akwa Ibom and expanded the kitchen budget. The Akwa Ibom cooks and stewards were over 20 cooking for Peter Obi. Buffet was always there.
* Peter Obi purchased a bulletproof BMW for his wife and two bulletproof land cruisers for himself. He even bought an additional one for his brother, Damian.
* He was always using private jets to travel as often as any other state governor in Nigeria. The records are there and can be made public.
Peter Obi built nothing in Anambra when he was Governor.
No schools built by him, no factories, no companies, no malls, no major projects, nothing.
He didn’t even build his own people, never invested in anybody.
No Anambra man can tell you he’s successful today because of Peter Obi.
You can’t build your state, you can’t build your people, so what are you going to do as President?
@bigbrownson@Chi974257041672@sandrababybrri@YulEdochie So u be online beggar abi gambler. 😂😂😂😂 Bambiallah, wey him papa get house for UK. All these Apc urchins are the greatest liars on earth. Blame Electricity Issues on Leaders Who Gave Us Terrible Privatization of the Sector— President Tinubu tells Nigerians
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has blamed Nigeria’s ongoing electricity challenges on what he described as the poor handling of the privatization of the power sector by past leaders.
Speaking on the issue, Tinubu said, “Blame the electricity issue on leaders who gave us terrible privatization of the sector,” stressing that the decisions made in the past have contributed significantly to the country’s current power situation.
He lamented the state of electricity supply in the country, noting that instead of reliable power, Nigerians have been left with persistent darkness as a result of structural failures in the sector.
Despite the challenges, the President maintained that his administration remains committed to reforming the economy and rebuilding the nation. He emphasized the need for unity and focus, adding that efforts are ongoing to ensure long-term stability and development.
Tinubu expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, insisting that with sustained reforms and collective effort, the country’s vision of prosperity and progress remains achievable.
@tctpmi@laspalmascom@PO_GrassRootM No empathy like his slave master. People are dying daily and they don’t care a bit. Demons.
God will shame all of them.
Former President Oluṣẹgun Ọbasanjọ got 25% in the FCT to become the president.
Former President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua got 25% in the FCT to become the president.
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan got 25% in the FCT to become the president.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari got 25% in the FCT to become the president.
Mr. Peter Obi scored 25% in the FCT and met the requirements to become President of Nigeria, but INEC and Bola Tinubu hijacked his mandate by disregarding the constitutional procedure regarding 25% in the FCT.
Come 2027, we will be ready to defend our votes from hijackers.
