Small businesses face an affordability crisis, with higher costs for rent, insurance, and middleman fees. This EO from @NYCMayor will ensure these firms aren’t also being squeezed by city fines or fees that are outdated, unnecessary, or creating hardship for honest businesses.
Morgan McKay@morganfmckay

.@NYCMayor signed an executive order that directs seven city agencies to create a comprehensive inventory of all the fees and civil penalties that small businesses pay in NYC - with the intent of trying to reduce/cut some of these fines and fees

@linamkhan @NYCMayor Imagine saying all this from a Mayor who will not let Wal-Mart in to America's biggest city to protect them from lower prices.

Mamdani’s “relief” for small businesses is a joke wrapped in a press release. He’s the same guy pushing a $30 minimum wage that’ll shutter storefronts, rent freezes that’ll collapse housing stock, and city-run grocery stores to bankrupt bodegas. Cutting fees while strangling businesses with socialist mandates is like offering a Band-Aid before setting the building on fire. His EO is a photo op—Julie Su’s “inventory” won’t undo the 6,000+ regulations his own agencies weaponize daily. Real leaders like Adams kept fines low and let businesses thrive. Mamdani? He’s just laying groundwork to replace mom-and-pop shops with taxpayer-funded co-ops run by DSA cronies. Watch the fees drop as the real costs—$30 wages, rent strikes, union shakedowns—bleed the city dry.

@linamkhan @NYCMayor 1. Govern with leftist policies; 2. Leftist policies harm economy, destroy affordability, and increase poverty; 3. Quietly adopt conservative policies to fix the mess, pretend this was the plan all along; 4. Repeat.

@linamkhan @NYCMayor Hmmm… weird when socialists discover that deregulation is good for businesses and consumers. Maybe you should try that with housing.

@linamkhan @NYCMayor This step could bring real relief to struggling small businesses. Do you think it will be enough to reduce the overall burden?

@linamkhan @NYCMayor On the fine not )fee) side, I’m confused. Are you going to change your minds about which actions are bad & deserve a penalty, or will the action still violate some rule, law, or regulation, but you’re just gonna reduce the punishment for breaking the govt’s rules & regulations?

@linamkhan @NYCMayor The $33 HPD apartment registration fee is a complete junk fee. Owners have to fill out the form online, but instead of clicking 'submit', they have to print it out, sign it, mail it, pay the fee separately, and the fee pays HPD employees to open the mail and process it.

Government increases costs to small businesses This Marxist Khan now pretends that the Marxist mayor remedies the problem with an executive order for "honest" businesses Marxists are liars. They cripple businesses to take over, making citizens dependent on gov for healthcare, childcare, housing, food, fuel,...
