@edinhelp The cycle signal on the Northbound cycleway at the FotW showing a Green light for cyclists to proceed staright across the junction at the same time as vehicles are truning left. Please either get it switched off or more permanently covered up. A highly dangerous issue!

Yes, it’s very confusing (and one of the reasons I hate the use of ‘no entry except’ signs for this (rather than the blue circle ‘permitted types of vehicle only’ signs), but either is confusing here.

@johnrobson87 @justacwab @AvGeekAlex My understanding is cycle signal ionly green when cyclists can go left, ahead & right and that it’s an all greens phase for cyclists whilst everything else is stopped. This to avoid a 2-stage right turn but makes It very inconvenient for left and right turners. Needs a rethink!

How common is this kind of situation, where there’s a full green (or directional green) accompanied by a red cycle light (low-level signal). What is the legal position for someone cycling going straight at this moment? And what is the intention? It seems rather messy.

@edtiss I noticed that some of the bike stands by Pilrig Church are the type you can easily remove, why are they still persisting in using these when it's been demonstrated they are a liability?

@edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven why can’t a crossing be provided for cycles headed north from the Playhouse to the north side of Elm Row / Union St please like pedestrians? A toucan crossing could work easily. Old markings remain and lead to hidden kerb so is dangerous. @116McD

The placement at Dalmeny seems odd though. I’ll follow up.

It appears that a bike has been stolen at Dalmeny Street/Leith Walk. The thief has just unscrewed the rack. Please share far and wide so no one else suffers this. If only someone had warned @TramstoNewhaven, eh?
