@edinhelp The cycle signal on the Northbound cycleway at the FotW showing a Green light for cyclists to proceed staright across the junction at the same time as vehicles are truning left. Please either get it switched off or more permanently covered up. A highly dangerous issue!
English

@edinhelp @johnrobson87 @NetworkRailEDB @FinlayMcF @jomowat @SpokesLothian @edintravel Please would you also confirm whether people on bikes can turn left from Waverley Bridge into Princes Street. It seems strange that they are not mentioned as being exempted.
English

@johnrobson87 @NetworkRailEDB @FinlayMcF @jomowat @SpokesLothian @edintravel Hello, i have not had a response yet but i will let you know once i have a response thanks, Sophie

Hi @edinhelp can I get confirmation why right turns for cycles are banned from Waverley Bridge onto Princes St please? Confused by it now isn’t possible given it is a gentle gradient from @NetworkRailEDB 🚲 entrance.
@FinlayMcF @jomowat @SpokesLothian @edintravel

@edinhelp can I check if the right turn from Waverley Bridge onto Princes St is now banned for bikes please? Seems like right turn traffic light is covered over and there is no “Except Cycles” signage? Seems a retrograde change to ban a safe turn? @KatrinaFaccenda @FinlayMcF

@johnrobson87 @edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven @SpokesLothian @116McD @edtiss No, it means the road is no entry 1/4 mile beyond there, not at that point.
Yes, it’s very confusing (and one of the reasons I hate the use of ‘no entry except’ signs for this (rather than the blue circle ‘permitted types of vehicle only’ signs), but either is confusing here.
English

@FietserGlasgow Only it doesn’t! The project design requirement is Edinburgh Street Design Guidance edinburgh.gov.uk/downloads/file…

English

Councillor Scott Arthur, the council's transport and environment convener, told us: "The cycle parking installed as part of Trams to Newhaven meets the project's design requirements"
That tells you everything you need to know about Trams to Newhaven.

Also good to see progress on Picardy Island. Still a few cycling concerns to be resolved. @SpokesLothian

English

Great to see that @Edinburgh_CC expressed the pedestrian crossing from Picardy Place tram stop to the mainland (Cathedral area). The absence Gad been putting many people at serious risk. (The car was stopped - had been in a q) @CllrScottArthur

@justacwab @johnrobson87 @edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven @SpokesLothian @edtiss Original tweet deleted - what’s this all about?
English

@johnrobson87 @edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven @SpokesLothian @116McD @edtiss What does the 1/4 mile represent? Is it no entry after 1/4 mile of turning right? Looks rather odd.
English

@johnrobson87 @justacwab @AvGeekAlex My understanding is cycle signal ionly green when cyclists can go left, ahead & right and that it’s an all greens phase for cyclists whilst everything else is stopped. This to avoid a 2-stage right turn but makes
It very inconvenient for left and right turners. Needs a rethink!
English

@justacwab Oh I spotted the cycle signal has a real green phase for the first time yesterday. So think this has been commissioned now.

I'm sad to see my colleague @DrCarolineBrown leaving @HeriotWattUni, but she will be a great asset to @RTPIPlanners
Her appointment is a reminder that planners have a huge role as we respond to the climate and biodiversity crises.

@edtiss I noticed that some of the bike stands by Pilrig Church are the type you can easily remove, why are they still persisting in using these when it's been demonstrated they are a liability?
English

@beansontoast @EdinburghTrams @JackRMCaldwell @CllrScottArthur Correction - 25th August TtN completion
English

@beansontoast @EdinburghTrams @JackRMCaldwell @CllrScottArthur Not had a reply but They’re making good progress. TtN works not due to complete 15th August so hopefully these might too???!!!!
English

@EdinburghTrams @JackRMCaldwell Signs needed at Picardy Place stop to direct folk to ESJ. Loads of people being caught out by the lack of a crossing to York Place and takes ages via Broughton St. And 3 stages. Dangeroud trying to cross - barriers useless. 13 people from 1 tram!
English

@fifeenv @EdinburghTrams @JackRMCaldwell Apparently it’s a gyratory not a roundabout. Next step, close Leith Street.
English

@116McD @EdinburghTrams @JackRMCaldwell Clowncil signed a contract with the inevitable result that the roundabout there was replaced, WITH A ROUNDABOUT🤷
The whole area is a mess and barrier to human powered transport because of that.

@johnrobson87 @edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven They say there’s not room on the wee island. The compromise will be to make the toucan at the west end of the tram stop into 2-way with an advisory cycle way down to the London Rd junction.
English

@edinhelp @TramstoNewhaven why can’t a crossing be provided for cycles headed north from the Playhouse to the north side of Elm Row / Union St please like pedestrians? A toucan crossing could work easily. Old markings remain and lead to hidden kerb so is dangerous. @116McD

English

@cocteautriplets @edtiss @TramstoNewhaven @SpokesLothian @CllrScottArthur @JackRMCaldwell @susan4leithwalk @roadcc @Edinburgh_CC @edinhelp @EdinReporter @BenMacpherson Apparently in response to complaints they are installing solid tactiles at continuous footway junctions over 5m width and temporary tactiles at the others - I presume with CEC considering more permanent solutions. The placement at Dalmeny seems odd though. I’ll follow up.
English

It appears that a bike has been stolen at Dalmeny Street/Leith Walk. The thief has just unscrewed the rack. Please share far and wide so no one else suffers this. If only someone had warned @TramstoNewhaven, eh?
