@312fietser @JosephPolitano I would miss out on family related events in the suburbs: birthdays, baptisms, sporting events, recitals, concerts. Metra on the weekends isn't convenient + the first/last mile pre-uber with only taxis was expensive and unreliable.

@JosephPolitano I live by the Clark and Division stop and went car free from 2002 to 2008. It was nice to save money but I ultimately wasted a lot of time and missed out on a lot of things relying solely on public transit and my bicycle. Walk, bike, drive and CTA are nice options to have.

Bad transit is better than no transit, that’s my baseline. But, CTA basically just got another blank check for the same subpar service. I wanted CTA to present an action plan of how they’ll improve service to justify getting any more money, b/c despite being FULLY-FUNDED through pandemic to present, they delivered some of their worst service in decades. Lastly, the IL legislative process is broken and needs reform, new taxes and $100s of millions in funding shouldn’t be shifted about late at night with little or no notice or public review.
