The American obsession with owning a massive SUV or pickup truck that never carries anything heavier than a grocery bag is an ego issue. You don't need a V8 tank to drive to your office job in Dallas.

I strongly disagree with the push for a constitutional amendment to bar foreign-born legislators. foxnews.com/politics/mace-… While I have suggested the possible tinyurl.com/f86u4tce, I cannot think of anything more antithetical to our founding than barring foreign-born citizens from Congress. As a nation of immigrants, it is a reaffirmation of our heritage to have these citizens serve in government...

Does anyone here use the actual Paperlike screen protector on their iPads? Does it differ a lot from a cheaper paperfeel one? I currently have a paperlike knockoff and now I'm thinking of buying a legit one.

🚨 BREAKING: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 After eight attempts, the U.S. Senate has finally advanced a War Powers Resolution limiting military activities against Iran, passing 50-47. Key details: -Four Republicans crossed the aisle to vote yes: Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, Lisa Murkowski, and Rand Paul -Democrat John Fetterman broke ranks to vote against the resolution -This is the first time any Iran war powers resolution has cleared the Senate -Comes hours after Trump said he was "an hour away" from ordering new strikes -Trump previously called the War Powers Act "totally unconstitutional" The political ground is shifting fast. This comes as the Pentagon admitted the war cost $29 billion (real number closer to $1 trillion), and Iran's missile sites are 90% operational, the Senate finally found the spine to put a leash on the war. Whether the House follows is the next question. Whether Trump signs or vetoes is the bigger one. The Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war. Tonight, for the first time in this war, a majority of senators said that power means something.

🚨🇺🇸 Trump pushes Congress to pass the Railway Safety Act, three years after the East Palestine disaster: "I am strongly urging Congress to include the Railway Safety Act. We must not delay any further." Credit where it's due. He visited East Palestine when Biden wouldn't, forced FEMA's hand on federal aid, and endorsed this legislation back in 2023. Following through on it now with a direct call for Republican yes votes shows the domestic agenda hasn't disappeared behind the war.

It's time Florida, so many Americans have negative views of Florida under republican leadership! They've been failing Floridians for far too long. The good news is, You Can do something about that by electing them all out starting with electing, David Jolly for Governor! 💙🇺🇸💙
David Jolly@davidjollyfl

Florida is ready for something better. A new Change Research poll shows us leading Byron Donalds in the race for governor. It’s clear Floridians are responding to a message focused on lowering costs, protecting freedoms, restoring decency, and delivering real results. This is momentum. Now we keep going. Florida can be better. And together, we’re going to prove it.

A BUZZ AIRLINE TALE. LIFE ON THE LINE. The wheels of the Delta 737-900 settled on the runway with a soft chirp after six long hours across America-a redeye from Seattle to Miami-nothing but black sky, brilliant stars, an occasional thunderstorm firing off in the distance, glowing instruments, and a cockpit full of quiet exhaustion. I taxied in weary of the flight and ever-mindful that a taxi accident was a career ender. First, we spool down the first engine to save fuel…with that familiar whine that always sounded like a sigh of relief. After navigating a sometimes strange airport to the crew van pickup spot, the bus or van dropped me at the hotel just before dawn. The Hyatt Regency in downtown Miami, one of those towering glass-and-steel beasts that looks like it could launch rockets. I pushed through the revolving doors with my crew, flight bag in one hand and my crew roller board dragging from my other, uniform rumpled but still crisp enough to command respect. Tie pulled tight. The lobby smelled of fresh coffee, faint lemon polish, and that universal hotel scent—clean sheets and quiet ambition. A few early birds shuffled around with their roller bags, eyes puffy like mine. “We’re Delta 1090,” I told the smiling front-desk gal, sliding my ID across the marble counter. She slid a clipboard of crew names and we all signed in. She typed fast, her fingers clicking like rain on the windshield at 35,000 feet. “Welcome back, sir. Long night?” “Not anything that coffee didn’t fix,” I said with a tired grin, knowing that was really lame regardless of how tired I was. She laughed obligingly and handed over the key card. Room 1427. High enough for a view, not so high I’d feel like I was still flying. And I hate balconies, I’m afraid of heights. The pilots and the flight attendants all pile into the elevator, all punching our respective floors. Some of us were going to rally later, some of us were “boom-clickers,” in for the duration. Our elevator hummed upward. I leaned against the wall, tie loosened, the weight of the night finally settling in my bones and increasingly older body. That red-eye had been smooth—no major bumps, just the endless drone of the jets and the quiet camaraderie of a crew who’d flown together, off and on, for years. But man, the body clock was screaming. I clicked the door open and immediately put out the “Do Not Disturb” door hanger knowing full well there was a 50% expectation that would soon be violated. The room was a cool, dark sanctuary—thick curtains drawn tight against the rising South Beach sun, king bed turned down with military precision, and a little chocolate on the pillow like a reward for not screwing up the approach. I dropped my bag, kicked off the shoes, and peeled off the uniform. The shower blasted hot, steam filling the bathroom. I stood there letting the water hammer the fatigue out of my shoulders, thinking about the passengers who’d deplaned with sleepy thanks and the young copilot who’d nailed his landings. Towel around the waist, I cracked the mini-fridge and grabbed a cold beer. Collapsed onto the bed. The mattress swallowed me whole—firm but forgiving. Outside, the city was waking up: distant horns, the low rumble of another jet climbing out of Miami. Soon, I’d be heading for a quick workout at the hotel gym and then out for a bite at one of my favorite haunts. But now, in my room, it was just me, the hum of the AC, and that sweet, heavy pull of sleep. My rule of thumb—make it dark and cold! I set the blackout curtains just right, killed the lights, turned the AC down to Arctic settings, and let the world fade. 12 hours from now I’d be back in the seat, rested and ready. But for now? This pilot was wheels down, engines off, and damn glad to be on the ground. Where’s a beer? Living the dream, one red-eye at a time. 🇺🇸✈️
