A finite state machine with infinite tape is the same as an infinite state machine with finite tape. No, I haven't proven it formally. This is more of a vibe computer science moment. If I'm wrong and someone has actually studied computer science, I would love to learn more!

@Daractenus It's so depressing to see all these new shows and films coming out and just go "that looks shit", not watch it, then find out later through happenstance that it was indeed shit. I didn't even know anything about this, I just heard "SNL UK" and instantly knew it would be crap.

The utterly mad president of the US just shared a skit humiliating the British PM.

@TheFemoid 4 seconds seems like a long time, wouldn't the autopilot be constantly predicting false positives and disengaging? Impact is pretty much exactly at 0:04, nothing at the start of the video indicates an imminent unavoidable crash.

Wasn’t it proven that autopilot is programmed to disengage when it registers it’s about to crash? If it turns off 4 seconds before impact that means the autopilot caused the crash How are we this stupid
Nic Cruz Patane@niccruzpatane

Elon Musk confirmed via Telemetry Data that the woman driving the Cybertruck in this video disengaged the system four seconds before the crash. She was manually driving throughout this entire video. Don't believe everything you see/hear from Legacy Media about Tesla.

@cmuratori The gaslighting continues, as if we're in some new era where typing each character of a program's source code is an archaic notion and most people vibe code everything now. Whatever the investors need to hear.

@peach2k2 Not a real problem + calling preprocessor directives "pragmas" is self-reporting they're a noob, solved problem, legitimate criticism but easily automated, specific issue not endemic to the language, not a real problem, use another, not a real problem, not a real problem.

@cmuratori Shot in the dark; OpenClaw has more stars on GitHub than Linux. I would not be surprised if he was that out of touch.

@Hasen_Judi @LukasHozda "we asked Claude to assign a % to the probability that it is conscious and it gave a non-zero answer, omg!!!" is barely one step removed from the sentiment expressed in this meme.

@Hasen_Judi @LukasHozda My reply was a quote from someone else followed by an image I did not create. I don't think you can really infer anything about what I think about LLMs from that, certainly not enough to imply that I'm "too stupid to comment". However, \

C++ people simply enjoy arcane rules. They absolutely love studying giant quasi-legal documents and finding loopholes and creative interpretations of standards. It is essentially secular Judaism The only purpose of the Committee is to provide a steady stream of new lore

@vxunderground This is only a stupid question because it assumes age verification has anything to do with protecting children. Also the answer is yes.

I have a stupid question If they do age verification on everyone, making it so only adults can only visit some websites, that pushes people under age to certain parts of the internet that don't require age verification. ... doesn't that make it easier for pedophiles ... ?

@Almost_Sure it would be useful to highlight each a_nm with a unique colour so identifying where each term comes from in A is instant. What you've done is just syntax highlighting for maths notation, which probably aids parsing, as it can do in code, but you have used far too many colours.

@Almost_Sure I think this can work but not in the way you've used it, at least not for me, this is much too noisy. Colour-coding should serve to highlight terms which would otherwise blend into the rest of the notation, take the notation in this image as an example \

@phosphor_glow And "I wish they would go back to making games like this" ignores that games like this are still being made, just not by big studios.

@badcop_ Are we being secretive about forcing vibecoders to learn fundamentals now? In all seriousness, this problem is crap because real salesmen rarely get to dictate their routes based on their own schedules.

free app idea for vibe coders!! salespeople tend to do a lot of travel. imagine they can put in all of the locations they need to visit for the year, and it plans out the shortest route that visits all of them once before finally returning home why has nobody built this yet?
